Google Local Maps Listing or Organic Google?

What gets more hits for a popular local search term?

The local map listing at the top?

Or organic Google listing under the maps?

Is the any way Google Analytics can help me see specifically which link is getting clicked?

I suspect it's Google organic listing because I've had a #1 ranking there with and without a maps listing. My clicks were only slightly more with the maps.

But I'd like more concrete info.

    I would bet that a position on google places would also increase the likelyhood of someone clicking on your organic listing.

    From experience working with catalog services I know that a banner will increase the CTR of the regular listings.

    A combination between #1 Google Places, #1 Organic and #1 AdWords should be the goal.

    Luckily the efforts for increasing google places will increase organic and even to some extent AdWords rankings.

    That's what I have done; {Google Places}. Just double check your location marker and make sure it is where you want it.

    For example: I live in a house and that is where I run my business. However, I listed my business where my mail goes and where I have my bank statements sent... a UPS Store / Mail Box I have there. I looked and the marker for the UPS store was way off so I had to move it to the correct location.

    For the keywords it seems you are targeting in your signature, I would say local listings would get better results. Top of the page is better if you consider it statistically. Local listing always appear first.

    But in my local business, I haven't seen any difference when my site ranked at the top of Google Places (Local Business REsults).

    How can I find out for sure which gets more clicks? Local Biz Results or Organic?

    Can Analytics tell me?
