Clickbank Newbie Question

Hi there:

My name is Tony and I am relatively new to Internet Marketing and with very limited knowledge/experience only.

I recently decided to learn more about how to create a membership-site. I had to learn everything from scratch but after a few months of work, I finally had my product together: as I said, a membership site, one time payment of $37, 15 pieces of drip content (every other day a piece), in the 'self-improvement' niche, based on my experience as a kidney cancer patient and husband of a wife with breast cancer.

Since I don't know anything about the marketing aspects, I decided to go with clickbank at this was seemingly the easiest way to get started. I naively assumed by putting my product on the clickbank marketplace, things will just happen automatically. Well, I learned my lesson....

Anyway, here is where I need help with: what is my next step to get affiliates promoting my product?

I am not expecting to get rich overnight. I did have a goal in mind, though, initially. I wanted to make $2,000 a month with this product, but I understand that this seems to be unrealistic. At this point, I'd be more than happy to make handful of sales, just for my piece of mind.

Therefore, I'd appreciate any kind of advice from you as to what the next step would be at this point.

Thank you.

Tony

      Questions and Suggestions:

      1. is there an affiliate sign up on the bottom of your sales page?

      2. have you yourself made sales on the site?

      3. have you been collecting names? Can you email your list and let them know they can help promote the program that is helping them?

      4. there are some jv networks you can announce your product to

      5. add your site to your signature here (link) - with a catchy "know someone with cancer? your affiliate services needed" or something (I know, that wasn't really catchy)

      6. can you comment on some other cancer type blogs, and let the blog owners know you have a great product that might compliment their stuff?

      7. drop an ad here in the classifieds that you are looking for affiliates

    Hi Tony

I recently launched an Ebook in the sporting niche, which started off slow & is now picking up because I sent a copy to a review website & sent out emails to internet marketers in my niche as a potential joint venture.

    1. Offer at least 60% commission
    2. Send a copy to a related review website
    3. Send out emails to any potential marketers
    4. Keep linking back to increase your search rankings

If you combine all of the pieces in the affiliate/vendor jigsaw then, it's inevitable that you will get sales, but it does take time tony & it is not as easy as some people would lead you to believe !

The cancer Blogs seem to be your best source, but the affiliatepromotion will help lots.
Most affiliate guys are lazy and want you to provide them with lots of marketing materials
Check out some other sites on ClickBank for ideas.

Wow, I didn't expect that many responses in such a short time. Thank you very much!

      @ mattja:

I've never heard of solo email ad, but I will do some research on it.

      @ Mark

      1. Offer at least 60% commission - I offer 75%
      2. Send a copy to a related review website -
      3. Send out emails to any potential marketers
      4. Keep linking back to increase your search rankings

I actually offer $75. Review websites, interesting. Okay, I will look into that. As for the linking back part: does that mean "article-marketing", e. g. writing articles for E-Zine, Hubpages, etc. with backlinks to my sales-page?

      @ avenuegirl

      1. is there an affiliate sign up on the bottom of your sales page?
No, because I don't know what that is. But I will find out and work on that.

      2. have you yourself made sales on the site?
No, because I wouldn't know how. That sounds dumb, I know, but I simply don't know how to do that - I suppose one way would be article marketing (backlinks), right?

      3. have you been collecting names? Can you email your list and let them know they can help promote the program that is helping them?
See, another thing I haven't heard of. I will look into that. Sound logical.

      4. there are some jv networks you can announce your product to
Okay, I will look up jv-networks and do some research

      5. add your site to your signature here (link) - with a catchy "know someone with cancer? your affiliate services needed" or something (I know, that wasn't really catchy)
hehehe...good one, well, that's hard. I hate when people try to "sell cancer" (cheapcancerdrugs.com is a prime example). But I get the point of adding a signature.

      6. can you comment on some other cancer type blogs, and let the blog owners know you have a great product that might compliment their stuff?
Never thought about that. But, yes, that's certainly possible.

      7. drop an ad here in the classifieds that you are looking for affiliates
      Excellent advice!!

      @ fsweet

      Okay, sounds good

Again, thanks to everybody for their time and advice. Your gave me some concrete tips and I will get started working....

      Thank you - greatly appreciated.
