crap! I get inconsistent amounts of traffic

I am having trouble getting traffic in a niche site that I have, I have no idea what I am doing wrong.

I opened an account on ezine articles to submit...well articles(I got upgraded to platinum account yesterday), also I opened a twitter and facebook account with a facebook group dedicated to my site, I post links to articles on my site there.

I tend to have days with 3-6 people visiting my site and a lot of days with 0 visitors, once I had 11 visitors which quickly came back to 0 the day after that.

Can someone help?
I am really frustrated with this

Are you tracking where these visitors are coming from?

Are they return visitors or all new?

Theres way too many things it can be.

What I would recommend doing is keep updating your site with good content and posting articles on ezinearticles with links back to your individual pages.

Consistent traffic will come in time.

Wich position are you in Google SERP?
Getting big and consistent traffic from just articles, facebook and twitter requieres a lot of articles (and views of those articles) a big twitter list and a popular facebook page.
You probably need to work a little more on SEO, article marketing and social media.

Sounds like your site is very new?

If that's the case then don't get hung up on the lack of traffic at the moment.. focus on providing high quality content for the people who do come.. and give them a reason to return by adding even more quality stuff.

Eventually it will snowball once the search engines get hold of all that original content.

In short, add value to your market first, and on a regular basis

yes its VERY new, about 2 months old. I heard that google does not give priority to sites less than 3 months old. Still its frustrating.

Most of my traffic gets from ezine, got 1 from twitter recently. So far I had a total click through rate of 35 in the articles on ezine, one article was viewed almost 300 times but few people clicked on the site(less than 5%).

Mind if I ask what CMS/blogging software you're using?

If you're using a static HTML site, consider moving to something like Wordpress. If you're already using Wordpress, start submitting your RSS feed to RSS directories. Takes a while but the traffic you'll get in return can be pretty good.

Don't forget to add an XML sitemap plugin, and add your site (and sitemap) to Google Webmaster Tools.

Thanks for the webmaster tools tip, I am using wordpress.

OK.. here's an example.. yoursite.com/feed - that will bring you to your RSS feed.

Next Google for RSS directories.. there's hundreds out there. submit: rss - Google Search=

    That's good for longterm marketing.
