marketing strategies other than article submission

Do you have other marketing strategies other than articles submission? Especially for gaming site or online store. You can't promote those two kind of websites by submitting articles right?

What about video marketing? Social media? PPC? Paid advertising? Forums? I'm sure there are a few more...

Your best bet in those niches is probably SEO.

I don't agree. Do you think people in the gaming niche are more likely to be searching Google, or hanging out in forums that talk about gaming? While SEO would not be a bad thing, I would think that SEO for this niche marketing would be highly competitive.

I would target this market from the social media aspect, using Facebook and Twitter as vital sources of traffic. Video tutorials uploaded to TubeMogul would also work well; just make sure that you do adequate keyword research first.

Reverse engineer your competitors and build up a sample marketing plan. This may see listless, but it gets the job done.

For a gaming site, the best bet may be a social media forum. A hot forum interested in gaming of your given kind would catch fire if you market properly. So MySpace, Facebook and the likes are your best bet - Twitter may also be one.

SEO and PPC may work but well they are going to have their challenges - nothing special, just the well-known ones. Video marketing may be exactly as good as article marketing - depending on the nature of your gaming it may be slightly better or worse but ought to be of comparable magnitudes in terms of impact.

I agree... I think that paid marketing services such as targeted email marketing and PPC are great options. I also think that social media site groups will be rather beneficial as well. Always think, niche and targeted marketing. In this particular niche it is crucial.

This is a definite thumbs up. I have spied on my competitors and have developed a similar plan, NOT a mirror plan, BUT a similar plan. This is one of those instances in which if you can't beat the enemy using a different strategy, join them in theirs (or something like that.)

The easiest and most effective method would be to guest blog on very popular gaming sites and try to funnel some of their traffic on to your site. Keep in mind you would need to write a very good article in order to capture some visitors.

As a tip to your niche, I find most gamers have a pretty short attention span and love to watch videos or look at pictures. So I would make sure to incorporate a lot of those two in whatever you do.
