Script for virtual "yard sale"?

I'd like to have a virtual "yard sale" with a lot of one-of-a-kind items on our website (stray books, leftover CDs, etc.). I know I could sell these items on ebay, but I do not want to pay their fees or fool with creating auctions one at a time. We already have more than enough customers on our email list to buy everything we put out for this sale. (And in a way, that is also the "problem" -- because I know we could very quickly OVERsell an item and I would then have to spend all sorts of time refunding the extra purchases.)

So my question is: Does anyone know of a script that will allow you to create a page where you fill in the name and details of an item and then sell a limited quantity of that item (1, 2, 5, etc.) using paypal as the means of payment? I would want the link to immediately stop taking orders and display a "sold out" notice on that item once the number of items available has been reached.

Any suggestions?

You could just list the items on Craigslist.

You can do a wordpress market theme (I'm doing this soon myself)

Wordpress Shopping Cart - Wordpress Ecommerce - Market Theme -----> There is a free demo on the site, but you can take pictures, list stuff, limit quantities, tag and keyword friendly, and easy to use.

  The products I'm selling in this "yard sale" are specific to our niche market and wouldn't do anything on craigslist. But our own readers will jump all over them in a flash, hence the need to limit the quantities and post a "sold out" notice in real time.

Hi Jim,
Don't know if this would work for you but OSCommerce has the quantities function you're looking for and id usually in cpanel hosting accounts as a one click install.
