hi,

how do you create an affiliate link so that the affiliate link doesn't show...isntead your website shows?

for example....

i want to buy a domain name and on index.htm (or index.php), i want the affiliate link to be there...but i want MY DOMAIN to show up?

like Example Web Page (instead of redirecting to www.affiliatelink.com/etcetc)

anyone?

thanks
BJ

    UPDATE!

    i found it...

    create index.htm and put this code:

    <HTML>
    <HEAD>
    <META http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1">
    <TITLE>YOU CREATE YOUR TITLE HERE THAT YOU WANT TO SHOW</TITLE>
    </HEAD>
    <FRAMESET rows="100%" border=0 frameborder=0 framespacing=0>
    <FRAME name=top src="http://youraffiliatelink" noresize>
    </FRAMESET>
    </HTML>

    QUESTION....does it matter if you name it INDEX.HTM or INDEX.HTML?

    i personally use index.htm (because i use frontpage) but does it matter?

    thanks!

    Another thing you can do if you want to sell more than one thing from that domain is install WP and the plugin Pretty Link. That way you can create cloaked links that look like this:

    example.com/product1
    example.com/product2
    etc.

    It's a pretty sweet plugin

      Taken from Affiliate Dos and Don’ts

      Don't mask or store your HopLink in a frame. For your HopLinks to be properly tracked, they must not be stored in a frame. If your domain is masked, your HopLink will be stored in this manner, and therefore will be unreliable.

        This doesn't say that it's against ToS, just that it will be unreliable. I've read many other posts saying that it's against CB terms to use frame redirects - but can't find anything on CB as of today that says it's 'against the rules'. Am I missing something?

        I've been looking into this all day because I've also been using the Pretty Link plugin and use the 'cloak' feature - which basically creates a frame redirect. If this will result in my account getting shut down I'll turn it off of course.

          It's neither unreliable or against TOS as long as you know what you are doing and are not trying to be shady in your actions.

            Shady is a bit relative - I use it because it keeps the URL nice and clean, and also because a fair number of people look into stuff at work and email links home - and I'd rather they use my link when they get home (selling ebooks).

            That's the theory anyway.

            Of course the reason why I started looking at this is because I was considering using frame redirects as a way to direct link PPC campaigns - which is definitely higher on the shady scale.

            I don't know what "Pretty Link" is, but I mask all my hoplinks by using a .info domain-name (unhosted) for each product I promote, and fowarding it with masking from the registrar to my hoplink. I've had a long and good discussion with Clickbank about it (they do sometimes reply and talk sense!), and I'm still doing that with all of them after the discussion. Their affiliate cookie tracking is never 100% reliable, but I don't believe I've ever lost an affiliate commission for that reason. I can't prove that, of course, but neither can anyone else about however they're doing it. It's all opinion.
            Thanks!

            FYI - Pretty Link is an awesome free plugin for Wordpress that works like an onsite url shortner - but has the ability to 'cloak' links with frame redirects, etc... It's pretty much my favorite plugin for WP. I'd put a link but I need to post a few more times first.

    Better hope Google doesn't find out. They'll punish you severely for that one!

    And yes, they will find out. That's why they basically own the internet. Real smart people work there.

      No worries - I wouldn't even try that on Google. I was looking at Yahoo & Bing.
