Comprehensive SEO package - Your thoughts

Hi All,
I'm defiantly a SEO newbie. Been reading, studying and learning as much as I can.
I think I now have enough info to be dangerous. I've also fallen for some of the "SEO magic bullet" emails we all get.

The conclusion I've come to is there are no "easy or free" rides and getting to the top of Google will take time and work.

So, here is my question. What techniques would you used to constantly improve your rank?
Now, I outsource all my work and am trying to put together a team to complete my SEO each month.

Here are some thoughts I have.
1. Article writing and submission with UAW or similar.
2. Press Release one or two a month.
3. Blog postings
4. Video - upload a few to Youtube each month.
5. Web 2.0 via link wheel

So, that's what I've come so far.
I'd love to hear your thoughts as to what to add or remove.

    Kpick the most important thing is this. Track your tool and methods you use and analyze it in the end of the month and see what works best.

    SEO word is such a myth. The most important thing I can say is rather focus on little and do it well and grow. Then do all this people tell you and miss the boat.

    Before you build any site or product. Do market research and see if there is a market for your product. Then do a survey and see what people want from this product.

    Then build your site and product arround your hungry market and not on you.

    Looks like a good start.

    You could add these:

    1. Submit your site to high PR website directories that don't require a reciprocal link.
    2. Write guest blog posts for high PR blogs in your niche that include a link back to your site.

    Start with it (except for link wheel). Later, you will identify another 100+ methods in SEO, in case if you will get your eyes open all the time.

    PS. You forgot one of the most important method. Its called on-page optimization: 40% of success influence. Should be done before you start with your list.
