Can s.o. suggest other analytic programs other than Google? And how do they compare with Google? I've heard some people do not like Google to know all of thier info so what else is out there?

Muvar is a multivariate testing software that works pretty well and you can install it on as many sites as you want.

    I would suggest http://www.liveinternet.ru/add
Its a usually overlooked service (since its not promoted in ENG zone), but it provides much more than Google Analytics does:
    - everything what GA does, plus
    - visitors demographics reports
    - monthly traffic analysis reports
    - many more

    And its free.

Wow, I did not know there are this many so far. Lots to look into.
I don't want to use Google either. I'm glad there are other options.

Why dont you want to use Google analytics? Its an excellent cost free analytical program. It seems like you dont know much about these programs EXCEPT that you dont want to use Google which doesn't really makes sense to me.

To answer your question, I think it's too much control to Google. Knowing everything little thing about your business. They have control to wipe your sites off the planet. My way of not giving them everything on a silver platter.

Google doesn't have the power to wipe your site from the face of the planet, but they do have the power to wipe you from their index. Also, they wont do that or less your website violates their tos, and if you do get deleted you can always resubmit your website for inclusion in their index if you fix what they dont like. Also, how is them allowing you to effectively track your web stats giving them too much control? You'll be surprised on how much your favorite website monitors your daily activities once you are logged in. I respect the fact that you have your own opinion, but it appears to me that you dont understand much about website analytics, so whats the point of jumping to advanced tools that you'll have to pay fr when you can just use Google temporarily and master that tool?

dougp-I appreciate your input. I said it's giving Ggl too much control of knowing every little thing about your business. That's what I meant. I feel it's not their business to know everything about my business. That's just me, sorta anti-corp. Analytics are stats, traffic, demographics, . . . going to your site-what else is there to understand? Using it is for our information.
As far as I have learned there are other tools that are just as good as GA and still are free. Maybe I should not be so defensive towards big corp. I just don't like how big collomerate biz's rule the world, I know its the way it is but
      my opinion.
