How do you insert quotes into your post?

Hi guys,

I feel like a complete luddite asking this, but how do you insert quotes into an original post? I've tried to figure out how to use the multiquote function, but can't seem to get it.

Cheers,
Sissy

    Sissy,

When you want to quote a particlar post, hit the 'Quote' button underneath the actual post. If you're quoting more than one post, use the 'multiquote' button for each post you want to quote. Then hit the 'Post Reply' button and you'll find the posts you chose are already included in your reply box.

You can then select/edit the quotes as needed.

      Hi Frank,

Thanks for your reply. Rather than using the multiquote in a reply, is there any way to insert them into an original post when you edit that post? Hope that makes sense.

      Cheers,
      Sissy

You just need to surround your quote with the correct code. Like this:

Apologies for size - that's a graphic so the board doesn't turn it into a quote!

        Thanks for that Rose,

I thought it was that function, but couldn't seem to get it to work. Will try again.

Sissy i think you ment how to have a quote form a different thread post quoted in your new thread? i find the easiest if its multi quote click on all the post you want to multiquote on then press multiquote button then click quote on any of them you have selected at the bottom of your screen will be all the quotes already in PHP coding in the message box (i think it is easiest to highlight and copy this and paste it in to your new Thread post )

Hope this helps ... Yay a question i could answer
