Over 2,000 emails today. Is this a MailBomb?

I know this is not exactly marketing related so I'm not going to whine and post a HUGE "someone is deleting all my posts thread" if this disappears, but it's curious.

I just received over 2,000 emails from my gmail acct. that all looked like this.

Anyone else ever have this happen? Is this a mail bomb from some silly jerk who thinks that it's difficult to mass delete emails? Or has Gmail run amok? Seems I may have irritated some pond scum with a bot.

I think you are looking at a bot running a test.

I am sure a delicate flower like yourself could never upset anyone.

Its a spammer who thinks he is big and clever when in fact he is a one cell worm

Likely the "scum with a bot" scenario. I can't imagine a Gmail glitch that would cause that.

So, who'd you torque off this time?

lol .... I imagine could be any number of 'the usual suspects'. Hard to believe someone would do it over a difference of opinion on a forum, but I have had some bad guys hosts shut down recently.

They may have not like the brand of cigars or your tattoo!

All funnin' aside it is really immature. Like letting a 5 year old loose with a bot. Would turning it over to big G make a difference?

        Believe it.

A more likely cause, assuming it's personally targeted and not something [semi-]random.

If it's some idiot you got shut down, the odds are it will stop soon enough. The normal pattern is for those folks to throw a slap or two and go back to whatever they were doing before. The ones who persist are the people with bruised egos from personal interactions. These are almost always males. Usually in their teens or early 20's, although instances of men in their 40's and 50's getting fixated this way are not unheard of.

The psychology of those kinds of creeps is interesting, if more than a little ugly.

Yeah, I'm not panicking or anything. It's not like my sites are all getting mass hacked. Only took 15 minutes cleanup and it seems to have stopped for now, but I know what you mean by 'believe it'.

I've seen the lengths that people from this forum have gone to over disagreements, being banned, etc. Whole websites and forums and Facebook groups have sprung from it and Steve Wegenheim(s) has been victimized by it as well as you .... probably others.

Steven has been the target of some stuff that warrants kneecapping the creeps.

As far as me being "victimized," I think you misspelled "amused." I've seen a lot of it lately, and corrected some stuff privately with two people, but beyond that... Who cares? Let the idiots waste their ammo. I figure it's better they toss it at me than someone who might be bothered by it.

The only ones they're hurting are themselves.
