Things To Do After Every Blog Post? (I can't find this older thread...anyone remember it?)

I'm sure there's been several threads of a similar nature here in the Forum, but I can't seem to find them. I'm looking for a simple checklist of things fellow Warriors do after every single blog post.

So, maybe you have one you'd like to share...or maybe you remember where one of these older threads are? I just seem to be missing them somehow.

Thanks everyone,
Derek

    I don't do anything.

My blogs are set up to ping each post, social bookmark each post, syndicate each post, tweet each post, post to facebook and send each post to Ping.fm to go out to lots other places.

When you set your system up to do this - you don't need to do anything 'after' the post.

    A very nice setup Andy.

Mind explaining a bit about it?

I can't speak for Andy, but I've spent a lot of time developing this kind of thing for myself, too.

      Here are some recommendations:

      Onlywire (plugins for Wordpress avail)
      Ping.FM (plugins for Wordpress avail)
Pixelpipe (you can connect to pp by sending it email with subscribe2 plugin)
Socialite plugin for wordpress is what I recommend for connecting to twitter and facebook, use the above for everything else.
And syndicating your RSS is done just by submitting your feed URLs to aggregators - you can use RSS bot or do it manually.

Some additional automation things you can do:

Platinum SEO or All In One can be set to make your tags and content determine your meta SEO stuff for you. That's sweet.

SimpleTags plugin can be set to auto-tag new content on creation based on ones you set up.

Mark Dulisse is a fellow warrior (disclosure, I've written copy for him) but he's got a free plugin called SEOPower that will automatically grab search data with embedded keywords and auto-tag your relevant content for those.

Take those keywords and set them up in Simple Tags and that's like 99.9% of your SEO work automated for you.

Set up all this stuff and it will allow you to focus ALL your efforts on content.

Fair warning: It's possible I'm arguing with you because I have nothing better to do.

Great information Colin. Which aggregators do you recommend? Is there a WP plug-in you recommend for this? Again, thanks.

Thanks Andy for the explanation. I didn't realize the Wordpress had some of those plugins to automatically do the work. Will have to take a look for some!

    Yep.

Like Colin said - there are lots of ways to do it.

I've actually been selling videos on how to do this stuff for years. (not running any wso's for a few years though since I thought everyone knew now)

I also use tools, other peoples paid for systems and my own.

I'm testing a tool for a fellow warrior right now that also does this stuff too.

Wordpress with a few plugins and some accounts at social sites, rss sites etc. are all you need.

Basically, you need to spread the word that you wrote something, being it automated or manual.

One of the most important things to do after writing a blog post is to write another, and another, and another.

After my every post, I used to submit them to social bookmarking sites like digg and delicious. I also submit them to DMOZ even though it is not easy for my blogs to be accepted by the online directory. Likewise, I let others read my post and rate it to improve my writing approach.
