The Reason People Use Ecovers?

Hi Warriors!

I would like to ask a question to marketers who use Ecovers.

The question is why? What exactly does it do for your product and customers? I have a guess but I need to know what people think.

My guess is that ecovers give the prospective buyer a mental image of the reality of the product and thus creating a desire of some sort to buy the product.

Let me know what you think warriors and thanks for your time.

I think you may have answered your own question here, Aljiro.

Would you buy a regular/hard cover book without a cover? It's meant to serve as a visual representation of the actual contents of a product.

Thanks. I just had to ask the question because I met a few folks who want ecovers done just because they think it is a fad or something. They got me thinking.

Well, because there is practically no overhead involved in the eBook business model, everyone and their brother is trying to do it (this is why there is such a HUGE market for eBook cover makers...)

...this is why, to be successful with eBooks, you REALLY need to work hard, network, and establish it amongst the plethora of garbage out there. You need to foster relationships with people, and deliver true value....but, for the newbie, they need to really really network with people by giving ALOT....

I secured some killer testimonials, but, not after months of hard leg work leaving paragraphs of comments to different blogs...I HAD to make myself known even when I was earning next to nothing....I NEEDED to have their names behind me and my product(s) or people wouldn't touch it with a 40 foot pole...

Why do catalogues you receive in the mail or in newspapers always use images of the products they are trying to sell? It's the same thing. A visual representation of the product definitely helps build desire - words can only do so much.

I'd think it would be next to impossible to sell a product without an actual picture associated with it....

If you have incredible authority only then will you probably be able to pull that off, but, I'd recommend any newbie to not be stingy when it comes to cover design....it's not just a reflection of the actual contents, but the quality of it, whether you like it or not, is a reflection of your passion for and belief in your own product...
