Help - quick question on open and click rates

When in aweber / getresponse, after how many days can you reasonably "measure" the open rate and click through rate of a specific list mailing?

For example, I mean..24-72 hours or 1 week, etc

Thanks

It wouldn't be the number of days - it would be the number of responses.

If you have sent out, say, 30 autoresponder messages to your list and and the open rate or click-thru rate was zero then you'd need to start worrying. This would indicate that you are sending out the wrong message to the wrong audience.

But you need more data to do a statistically significant trial. Wait until you have sent out 100 messages to the list and then analyse the open rate and click-thru rate. That will give you a more accurate indicator of the response rate of your campaign.

One of the biggest reasons you should be looking at open rates and click-throughs is so you can compare and test how effective one email is to the next. As long as you use the same sort of time period for each test then it should give you a pretty clear indication of what is working for you and what is not.

I would not be too concerned about comparing your rates to those you have heard thrown around the Internet. Just concentrate on improving your own each time.
