Hey Everyone,
Short and sweet post here. I was reading Bloomberg this morning and one of my "business gurus" was profiled in Businessweek (Now owned by Bloomberg)
Anyhow, his name is Thomas Barrack Jr. He owns many many things. Casinos, real estate, Accor Hotels (Motel 6 fame), Carrefour SA, and even owns Michael Jackson's old estate Neverland.
He's brilliant and writes a really cool blog on his website. Here's the current month.
Colony Capital, LLC - Chairman's Corner
There are a lot of marketing lessons. He's entirely self made coming from Lebanese immigrants. His father ran a grocery in LA. Worked from 5am to midnight only to return for dinner. 7 days a week.
So this is a guy who isn't a silver spoon and yet he made it big...REALLY big.
Please don't overlook the value of this blog. It might not be traditional IM but the guy really knows what he's talking about
