Google violating lobbying rules

Looks like Google has been violating lobbying rules. See the video for the full story. I think they are lobbying in order to save us money, but I am not quite sure if this affects us or not.

White House Ties to Google Violate Obama?s Lobbying Pledge - Video - FoxBusiness.com

It just really bugs me that these large companies just think they can do anything they want.

Actually, they're saying they don't want you to advertise an advertisement.

And a squeeze page is even worse, because it is an advertisement for your list-building bribe.

Which is an advertisement for your products and services, and an inducement to further advertising.

So when you advertise your squeeze page on AdWords, it's an advertisement for an advertisement for an advertisement that you can have in return for accepting advertisements.

Do you honestly not think anyone might consider that a little, I don't know, spammy?

There is an old saying. Some refer to it as the golden rule. 'He who has the gold, makes the rules'

Google has the gold, so they make the rules. But somehow, what Google does, just seems to be against the law in my opinion. But as I said in my original post, when you are as big as Google, you tend to ignore rules and make your own.

But to answer your question, it ain't going to be very soon that anyone comes along to nock Google off their perch. Just look at Microsoft with all their money, Bing is just a distant thought for most of us. I think I used it four or five times to see what it was like. Not impressed.

What have they done wrong? Google didn't make a no lobbying pledge, Obama did. The only one violating a pledge here is Obama. Surprise surprise.

A pledge isn't law. Just another lie by the pretender in chief.

That is a good point, but doesn't an executive order carry the weight of law? But by now we should be used to this type of thing.

I will say no more as I don't want to get into a political discussion and get in trouble. I think you know where I stand on this subject/administration.

      Doing what?

Advertising your advertising for advertising more advertising?

No. I wouldn't waste my time. My "better way" involves not doing that.
