By selling things people want to buy?

Find something that makes sense to you, test it, refine it, work it hard, then duplicate it or scale it up.

Education, Discipline, Action

I don't want this to be huge so I'll do it broad brush strokes.

* Find something people need information on - DUI, dog training, acne, etc. - the more immediate the need the better
* Find products, advertisers, etc. that are relevant to the topic
* Find & capture interested traffic - keywords for SEO, keywords for ads, banner ads, etc. --> Keywords can be misleading since what seems like a great keyword or phrase can sometimes be tire kickers or other IMers, give those keywords some thought
* Find a domain name that includes the main keyword
* Create a site at that domain - wordpress is a good CMS as well as a good blogging system
* Drive traffic to site
* Once traffic reaches a certain level, test everything on the site. I usually start with the layout of the ads & content. Then I swap ads to see if something else will convert better. I haven't had a site successful enough to bother testing beyond this point yet.

I'm not sure how useful this list is since I haven't yet been particularly successful.

To initiate a transaction.

In my book, a transaction is where money changes hands. So, if a surfer clicks on your AdSense ad you will make money. If they click on your banner or link to a Clickbank product or other such affiliate offer and then make the purchase, you wil make money.

So therefore, all you need to do is facilitate a transaction. It can be the sale of your own product, or the sale of someone else's product or ad.

Making Money Online = Avoiding rhetorical questions like this that direct your attention away from actually making money online.

By building a genuine relationship with your list and your visitors and then sell them what they want

Find a niche and market the heck out of it!

How about three words? Offers and buys.

That's pretty much how money is made all around, isn't it? Someone makes an offer, someone buys. Money changed hands. Value (hopefully) changed hands. Money for value. Still three words. <g>

By making a blogger blog about my cat and hoping the internet fairy clicks my AdSense ads about 8,000 times a day.

Not a newbie, becomes an Authority in providing value.

That is if you want to build an extremely large business and make massive amount of money.

There is some great discussion in response, but one reply in particular made me stop and think. One person put forth the following hypothesis:

1.Time is money
2. Knowledge is power
Physics says "Power = Work / Time"
so...

Knowledge = Work / Money

and therefore...

Money = Work / Knowledge

By providing a solution to a problem.

The customer searches for information, if he finds that information along with Google Adsense ads on your site you make money for clicks, IF you refer customer to a merchant (clickbank or amazon) that's affiliate marketing for money... IF you build a squeeze page and ask for customer's email so you can do direct selling... that's pretty much about it..

positioning, the right product and or service at the right place at the right time.

I had another thought;

Provide people with information they want.

This might be a review on a product, which will then direct them to the product to get an affiliate commission. This might be just an article that provides them some information and they might then click on your advertising from which you get paid, either upon the completion of a sale or just for the clicking on the ad. Or you provide them with information on your own product and then they purchase it.

In either case, you are providing people with information, which tends to generate a sale or two now and then. Same as with the TV, they provide you with the shows you want to see, and then hopefully you will buy from their advertisers.

Hope this makes sense.

I would say that really covers everything. By having adsense ads, you are providing them with relevant content, and a way to proceed. (When they click it)

By selling a product, you provide something people wants. Making money from CPA goes 2 ways: Give businesses leads and useful opinions, while providing excitement/competitions/relevant services to your visitors.

Provide offline SEO services, and you're helping offline businesses suceed online etc etc etc....

It doesn't sum up all ways to make money, but it's a good foundation for a great business plan.

By staying focused, motivated, centralized and positioned as an authority for a given niche....and not to forget on delegating work by avoiding micro managing and outsourcing to help save time and money and not to mention work load....also to build good relations with JV partners.

Online business is the same as offline business:

You will get everything you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want

Show people what they want and provide them a way of getting it

By finding something that someone is willing to pay for (goods, services, whatever) and then offering it to them in exchange for mullah.

I agree the fundamentals are the same as offline businesses. But the scalability is the difference.

If I want to double the sales at my hair salon I need to buy a double sized shop, pay twice as many staff, buy twice as much shampoo etc. On the other hand if I want to sell an online service/ebook etc I can sell 10 times as many without any incremental cost. And a month later I can sell 1000 times as many. You cant get that offline. That's the real beauty of online businesses to me.

Online, offline, in outer space...makes no difference.

I collect and compel audiences to willingly take actions with which they are satisfied, and from which I profit, either directly or indirectly.

I'm not a newbie but I just couldn't resist.

Help people with what they want first and the profits will come.

create your follower first, give them free information, then your potential costumer will trust on you.. that time you should inject some ads for the eager
