Over the last six months I've been slowly transferring my domains as they come up for expiration from my old domain registrar to namecheap.com.

Name cheap charges half of my old company does, gives free privacy protection and has much better customer service.

Case in point., Today I realized that one of my domains was expiring today. When I went to try to transfer over to name cheap from their website, I couldn't because it expiring today. So I got one of the customer service reps on online chat, explained the situation and they transferred it for me manually.

It took about 10 minutes.

Great service.

Ron

Definitely the best domain registrar I have come across so far. You can always get a discount every time you purchase a new domain through Namecheap. Just type in Namecheap discount ' Current Month & Year'.

We love namecheap too. and like you, are transferring all ours as they come due. The pricing is to go up July 1, but that's okay...it's still a great place!

Remember sometimes it also comes down to the type of domain. A .ws may be less at one place over another. And do not ignore coupons then transfer the domain later when you can. Godaddy will have a coupon from time to time on a .com, buy it transfer later. Every penny saves.

    I wanted to love Namecheap...

But they don't offer auto-renewal with a credit card. I have to "load funds" via Paypal. If there's no funds loaded...you can possibly lose your domain.

And, free privacy is only for 1 year.

1and1 has autorenewal by credit card and free lifetime privacy protection and cheaper prices.
