How 2 change descirption of site google picks up for a worpress blog?

Hi Guys

With a wordpress blog I have, the index page is picked up by Google which is great, but in the description showin in google is from the posts I am making, but instead I want it to pick up the main description I have given for the overall site.

Anybody know how I can change this? I thought it might be general settings or the @All in one SEO' plugin but can't find anything??

    It will be in the meta description tag in the head of each page. I believe the All in one seo plugin has a few options. You can either allow it to come up with it's own description by taking an excerpt of your post, alternatively when you actually write the post, you should see an option there that allows you to override the automatic description the plugin creates and write your own.

    Oops, you were talking about the index page. I don't have time to login and have a look now but I am pretty sure there is an option there in the plugin to enter a description for your index page - infact I am certain of it after just having a look at one of my blogs quickly.

    You need to set this through All In One SEO.

    Go to Dashboard -> Settings -> All In One SEO and the write the Description in Home Description. Your change will be reflected after Google cache your change. More over you can check it by

    Right Click on your blog -> View Source Code and you will see your changed description in Meta Description as :

    <meta name="description" content="Your New Descrption"/>
