Please explain "cookies" to me - affiliate did'nt get the credit!

What are cookies? A cookie is a message given to a Web browser by a Web server. The browser stores the message in a text file. The message is then sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server.

I promised to buy from someone's aff link and he did'nt get the credit from Clickbank, the merchant did, because I've visited the merchant site just before I bought from his/her link. I've reset all the cookies in Mozilla but now it shows (affilliate - none) at the bottom of the clickbank page. Also tried Internet Explorer - the same - aff + none. Will check Google Chrome tmrow at the office.

How do I fix this so that it don't happen again and how does this "cookie" crumble?

When you reset cookies you are basically erasing them. So you will need to use the affiliates link to access the sales page now. When you click through to buy make sure it shows the affiliates ID at the bottom of the CB page.
