WOW! FireFox is DA BOMB! Check this out...

I tend to look for ways to tweak every bit of software I use trying to figure out ways to make it more efficient. I mean, I wanna shave off as much time as possible with every task; even if its only a couple seconds.

Side Note
I don't know about you, but I put in the time I need to put in regardless of how much time that is to get the job done. I'm constantly trying to convince people around me that I absolutely hate sitting behind this computer screen for as long as I do.
end Side Note

Well, anyway...
I was debating whether or not to employ yet another add-on to FF because I have a couple separate sites that I need to get to off and on throughout my work day; and I wanted to get to them with the least amount of typing and/or button clicking as possible.

There is an add-on that helps with this; (can't remember the name of it off hand); and there's more than a few bookmark add-ons, as well. None of the add-ons I had looked at did exactly what I wanted OR did more than what I wanted.

So, I was in the process of switching my current set homepage to something other than what it was... grumbling the whole time 'cause I didn't really want to change it... and the little button under the box where you put your homepage URL; "Use Current PageS".

That little s made me say, "huh?!".... so I clicked it and guess what?!

Yeah, yeah.. I know.. get to the point, right? :p

Basically, FF allows you to set more than one homepage under the homepage button. Who'da thunk it, right?!

Yeah, so when you click the little Home button in your FF menu; (you know the little icon that looks like a house); FF opens all the pages you have set!

Ya might not wanna go over board, of course. I only have two set. But, I thought it was so cool that this feature is built in that I had to share it.

So, there ya go... have fun with it.

Well TecHead, You are going to have to explain to me how I can put two or more URLs into my home page. I can't figure it out.

In the middle of something kinda heavy; but I'll take a couple minutes to create some screen shots to show you.

On another note, if the technical side of having multiple home pages on the same browser is a pain, you could create a site that has discriptions and links to all of your websites, so you simply click on that page and easily go to all your websites.

Of course you'll end up getting a few of those dreaded backlinks that we all hate so you have to consider that as well.

Or simply use Opera speed-dial as I do.

One click of the "extra tab" icon and I have 25 of my favourite sites right there in front of me, no mess.

          ...
Speed Dial! THAT's the FF add-on I couldn't remember the name of.

Yeah, I like Speed-Dial; but like I said above, its one of those add-ons that does more than I wanted. The dual (or more) homepage option is exactly what I wanted for what I'm using it for.

          Side Note:

The more add-ons/plug-ins you employ, the slower the original app; (no matter what it is); runs due to the extra processing. The whole premise of the OP was about effectively maximizing time efficiency.
          </end side note>

Anyway, thanks for helping me remember the name of the add-on; gonna go get it now. With both options in place, I'm gonna be a happier camper.

This is how I do it for Firefox.

Open new browser window > open more than one tab > add a url to each tab
Go to Tools > Options > General > Use Current Pages

You can also create bookmark folders on your toolbar with as many sites as you like and when you click on that folder at the very bottom of the individual links there is an "Open ALL in tabs" button.

That kind of does the same thing without always opening several sites when you open your home page(s).

True; I spoke about bookmarks and bookmarks enhanced through add-ons.

The added benefit of using the homepage option is that the browser can be defaulted to open the pages listed as your homepageS at the time you open your browser automatically.

      Can't do that with bookmarks.

Just to let the word be spread... and as much as I hate Internet Explorer, I have to say that this function is available in IE too. You just go the Internet Options, and instead of defining just one homepage you set every site you want, one on each line of the little window.

    Still love Firefox, though.
Best wishes to all! And to humanity too!

Or you can just use Google Chrome which is a faster browser anyway and make Google as your homepage so you instantly see all your favorite and most visited sites on one page.

And if you don't like the look of chrome you can check out these links..

Yeah, I just uninstalled that as a matter of fact. lol

Its a good add-on, but I don't use Google's properties that much to justify it taking up the space.

Thanks for the input, though. Somebody else will definitely benefit from the info.
