Article Marketing Question

I just started to post articles to article directory.I have a question.Assuming for the purposes of this discussion,I submitted to goarticles the topic, "how to prevent my dog from barking " and as a result, the article is now listed at the number one spot on google search.

Say I want to submit more articles, to solidify that number 1 spot, and of course to make more money, would all of my subsequent articles have to be the exact same topic, that is "how to prevent my dog from barking " or can there be a variation in the topic?

Thanks for your input.

Your article will go to number one right away because of the article site itself having such a high impact on Google. Expect the article to slip away unless you spend time promoting the link to it yourself.

Subsequent articles can be on the same topic, but they don't need to be on the same keyword. There are many variations that will help keep your links out there.

If you want to have all 10 spots on page 1, you need to have all articles on the same keyword. The subject can be different. With some keywords that's not a problem, with others it is.

When your articles are brand new, they show up high in the ranks because of where you published them, like Sylvia said.

If you're going to dominate the 1st page for a keyword, might as well have your main site be up there, not only articles.

Keep in mind that google is only going to rank 2 instances of an article from a directory for a keyword phrase.

In order to occupy all 10 positions you would need 5 different article directories (or other websites) and then submit at a minimum 2 articles to each directory targeting the respective keyword phrase.

Savory your #1 position. Keep writing more articles and submitting them to all directories. Success is nice, but don't get too comfortable. Article Marketing is an ongoing process.

    Nice Job!

If you want to get more spots on page 1 for that specific keyword, then I would suggest writing at least 10 unique variations of your article. I have never found an article spinner that was worth my time, so I just do the rewrites manually (or outsource them).

Once you have done this submit all of the articles to the following websites:

    ezinearticles.com
    goarticles.com
    articlesbase.com
    docstoc.com
    scribd.com
    slideshare.net
    hubpages.com

I am sure there are many more, but those are just a few that I have personally used to get great search engine rankings with my articles.

Good tip, That's another option with some additional power behind it due to the bottom 4 sites.

Still, if you submit 2 articles to each directory you have the ability to piggyback off the first article submission which helps you occupy even more virtual real estate in the organic search engine results.

If you want to solidify your ranking you could also write similar articles and link them to your main article or a site like wetpaint or squidoo where you can add html content.

This would get you backlinks which would help your ranking positions.
