Acording to Hostgator Suppport, " it was a mod_sec issue" but it should be ok now.

Will wait a couple minutes before panicking.

  THANK YOU for mentioning the wp-login.php way.
  
  I was just trying to do a blog post on one of my sites by going with my usual wp-admin and it kept redirecting. I tried on all three of the browsers I use (IE, firefox and chrome) and all kept being screwy.
  
  I have hostgator as well - two accounts (I'd overloaded my baby account and signed up for a resellers) and tested sites on both and couldn't log into either.
  
  I was in the midst of freaking out when I decided to check here since about 2 hours ago I was logging into sites just fine and now I couldn't.
  
  Sure enough others are having the same issue.
  
  And I tested it with your suggestion of wp-login.php and that seems to do the trick now.
  
  But it is weird. Hopefully this will be fixed up soon.
  
  Whew - I was about to have a cow. (And this is after seeing that one of my affiliate programs landing page keeps having a forbidden server thing - I thought it might be just from trying to access it from my computer but I went to the library and same thing. I think THAT site just happens to be down too.)
  
  Is July 1st some weird "internet gets flukey" day? Does the official exact 1/2 way point of the year signal to the internet to take a break from a hard 1/2 year already down? lol
  
  Ok, now that I know how to get logged in, time to let the heartrate calm back down and get to it!

This is really strange. It seems there was a update somewhere inside HT and this redirect issue comes in.

I was freaking over here cause there was no news about this in Google Recent results.

Hope this is NOT a security flan...

They've sorted mine - the technician had to whitelist a security mod rule (not sure that's exactly what he said - but it worked)

I've looked with filezilla and can't see anything has been changed today

Definitely I have problems: can't login using the "wp-admin".

Need to get back to HT support.

Just started freaking out that I couldn't get into any of my sites and decided to come here. I can log in with wp-login.php, but still find it out that the other way is not working. I think I will contact support as well..I'm sure they are busy if this happening to everyone.
