Newbie has a lot of questions

Hello,

I am currently working on a self defense book that I want to sell online. I was wondering if you knew what to pay someone if you wanted to interview them as an expert in the field.
I other words, I want to create a bonus audio cd of me interviewing some knowledgeable people in the martial arts field. How would I go about approaching them? What incentives can I offer them? I have very little money right now and can not afford to pay them a lot. what is my legal responsibility to them?

How do other people get these so called experts to give those interviews? Do they pay them a flat fee? Or do they promise them a percentage of the profits, And how much of a percentage?
As you can see I am very confused in this matter. Any input would be gladly appreciated.
I am new to this. Though I have studied a bit of the I.M. products that are offered out there. They all seem to leave out answers to the everyday issues such as the ones above.
It would be great if there was an email mentor or coach to help me with general questions like this. Like the Warriorforum but with direct email access to someone.
I have a lot of simple yet unanswered questions.

Thanks again and best wishes on all your endeavors.
Gio42.

I think what you have to do first is find a good recording method and practice on friends first. Then start with some people that are easy to access like a local dojo owner. Build up the number of lower level people you have interviewed, and then I think there will be a natural progression upwards. Good luck!

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

What you could do is simply explain to them what your project is about and ask them to do an interview. As a payment you offer them x amount of $ or X amount of sales for X amount of copies sold. This is normally the first few copies. This way you will not have to take anything out of your poket from the start.

So say your product will be selling for 37$ and they agreed to do an interview for $370. So you offer them the first ten sales with an additional 5 sales for having to wait for the money. Since it could take some time for you to get started with out knowing much about seo website building or traffic building with limited funds. Where most here start their new sites with ppc you may not be able to do the same not to mention ppc just takes away from the profits you could be getting.
