I am really into marketing with the use of social media, but I have to say I have left Myspace alone. FB for me is where its at. They are generating so much leverage these days.
Others will I'm sure tell you different story about their experiences.

haven't bothered for a while now if I'm honest - Twitter and Facebook cater for my social networking needs!

  • Sadly MySpace made themselves almost irrelevant to much of the business community once they went overboard with all of the blinking lights, cartoony figures and so on. It's now the playground of kids...

Having said that, if your niche is in the are of music or anything to do with the teen scene, then yes, I would market there. It'd be perfect because you'd be in the middle of your clientele.

The-English-Webmistress is really Andrea, who went backpacking the world, accidentally landed in Panama, Central America, and never left. (Beaches! Mountains! Hot latin music! Piña Coladas!) She doesn't miss the London commute AT ALL...

I'm sorry to say but it seems myspace is now obsolete. They failed to evolve.

It does depend though. I have certain teen cpa offers that make me a bomb over there. Pick a decent related offer and you can still form one or two good revenue streams out of myspace

lol...it's been ages since I logged into my MySpace account....

Is their site taking a real beating right now?

Of course, just because alot of people have stopped using it, doesn't mean it can't still be a great place for IM'ers to capitalize off of....

When everyone turns their eyes off of something, that may be the best time to take advantage of it...

Thats a fair point too. If the majority of IMers are somewhere else......

Course then they will all head back lol. Ah, sweet catch 22.

MySpace is for pedafiles. I never really got into it. Seems like whenever a sex offender was caught, they tracked them down by using MySpace. I know...it's sick. But there's just this stigma about it, so I never got involved.

I recently deleted my Facebook account because it became irrelevant. I'll rebuild it later, but really it too was a waste of time.

          Happy marketing,

          Shane

"MySpace is for pedafiles. " - -agree, many are there, but not everyone there is. Hooked up with lots of fellow weight watchers folks in a group and IMers, etc.

However, my myspace account vanished. Support there tried to find it, and it's gone, vanished - -and it had a lot going on there. Weird place.

I completely understand where you are coming from, and one's ability to fully utilize each site is directly related to their niche...for some, MySpace and Facebook may be invaluable, but, for others it may not be worth it...

....one argument for Facebook, though, is the fact that it is very effectively and expeditiously aggregating a TON of people that span age, ethnicities, interests, hobbies, etc....With that in mind, I'm not sure what it could do to be 'irrelevant', because, I'd think just about every niche, or sub-niche, or sub-sub-niche, is covered there, with regards to groups or pages...

I wouldn't underestimate the value of Facebook, if used appropriately.

I use them only because it's just as easy to post blog snippets an links there through my Wordpress as it is NOT to. I never log in or go there though. It's just for link juice at this point (if they even have any).
