Which is it? Do share

Thanks in advance.

I would'nt agree with your theory re Sig Files at all Mark. I'm not going to advertise my best product in my Sig File as I don't want my hard worked for products giving ideas to others.
My best selling product is a 40 page eBook and is a niche within a niche selling for $150 [ yes, that's correct ] and has never been picked up by anyone else - never. How long would my "earner" last if it was in my Sig File!
I do understand your point though - horses for courses maybe.

Product creation first and then affiliate marketing.

Oh, and then coaching and copywriting.

I try not to put all my eggs in just one basket. That way, if one thing has a
slow month, I have other things to pick up the slack.

Offline consulting and affiliate marketing. However, if you are a new internet marketer, don't even think about offline consulting yet. There are a ton of things that you need to know, and if you cannot really deliver the goods then you could setup yourself up for some legal headaches.

However, both are a nice way to make a good living online.

I don't agree with this one at all. Offline is one of the easiest ways to earn EXCEPTIONAL cash for those that are even relatively new to IM/ You don't need to start out with big, long-term contracts to be successful here... there are soooo many folks who just need a basic website or a Google Places listing done for them that it is like taking candy from a baby.

I guess you can say I do it all. I tend to do seasonal promotions depending on what's hot during a specific time of year.

At this point in time I do not particularly feel comfortable revealing the backbone of my business (just kidding) a huge portion of my business is off-line.

At this time my business is putting together a directory of Internet marketers so that they have a place to contact one another without all the confusing mumble jumble is simple enough that marketing directory plain enough connecting people to people.

I use direct mail marketing to make serious bank
in CPA (Cost-Per-Action) Trial offers and will be
expanding to affiliate products and eventually,
    products of my own.

I use the internet as a portal to do business now
than as a way of doing marketing.

My life has changed because it = FREEDOM!

P.S. Don't be fooled by the freelancing deal in my
signature. Some one earlier said just look at some
    one's sig...but that's only something I do for fun
and to use for my offline business...not as a main
    income.

You must have a very responsive list.

I am curious though, are these people
on your list generally long term then?

What else besides CPA offers do you offer them?
since I assume they will only sign up for so much.

I don't have a list either. What I do is unlimited
upside potential, you just have to understand
how the business works or you can waste $$$$.

What that business is, simply -- is Direct Mail
        Marketing.

The people aren't "long-term" (that would be
renting a universe past the hotline list of buyers,
but I haven't made it THAT far along yet)

But...a hotline is just a recent list of buyers of
a specific product to solve a specific problem
they have or want solutions for.

What else besides CPA offers do you offer them?

Nothing for now. Technically, I don't have to do
anything else. But I'm an entrepreneur, and I
don't think many people can find something that
makes them money and stop doing anything else.

In the future, I may venture off to affiliate sales
and my own products, but that's likely years
        down the line.

It is interesting you say this... I have thought about running some direct mail offers with RingRevenue but have yet to experiment... When I do I am going to blog all about it.. just in the analyis paralysis mode right now. I have done some research, etc. I am a real estate investor and have had a lot of success with direct mail, which intrigued me... Would like to hear more about this, maybe you should write an ebook.

The bulk of my income is at an offline job. Risk analysis & policy. Being mentored in MIS & reporting, currently. Yeah. My job is boring.

Many of you complain how article writing, backlinks, ppc campaigns are boring and tedious... but all this IM stuff is exciting compared to what I do during the day.

Service online and offline are my main income lines. I actually own a company that covers a broad range of products.

Writing press releases and SEO web content . I did really well with a couple of ebooks that I wrote, but they are now outdated so I pulled them off the market, and I have been so busy writing press releases that I haven't written any new ebooks recently.

I also have an adsense site that does well for me, so I keep meaning to try to replicate that with other adsense sites. It uses a free adsense optimized wordsense theme that I customized using a picture from istockphoto in the banner.

You can say that again. Want a piece of advice? Set your stuff to a certain maturity level (14 days, a month, etc) so new members can't rip off all your materials the first day and cancel immediately. Sure, you still get the first month's worth of profits, but there goes your recurring income. I had that happen to me a few weeks ago and overhauled my site to prevent it from happening again.
