Social Bookmarking - please help!

Will some kind, helpful souls help me out?-I'm just not getting the social bookmarking thing, I mean, how exactly specifically in steps what to do... can you please offer me a "first do this, then do this..." procedure for doing social bookmarking? And what site should I use, social marker, or social poster, or what?

I'm a "steps and procedures" kind-of-guy, so could you help me with a step by step way to do social bookmarking right? I'm not currently selling an affiliate product, I'm concentrating on doing list-building in my niche at this point, so I suppose what I'd like to do is drive traffic to my blog and website.

        #1. Go to www.Socialmarker.com .

        #2. Create an account for each service socialmarker submits to. Use the same username/password for each account.

        #3. As you come across great resources from your web surfing, submit them to socialmarker. Submit some of your own URLs as well, but don't over-do it.

        #4. As you do this, spend some time and learn more advanced bookmarking strategies.

        #5. Expand your network of sites to include blogger blogs, squidoo lenses, hubpages, visio, etc. Link these resources to your own "main" site. Bookmark these other sources. By using these third party resources, you can camoflage your own stuff much easier so all your bookmarks aren't to your own domain. If you have "too many" bookmarks to yourself, you'll likely be considered a spammer.

        #6. Understand the biggest part of social bookmarking is the grunt work of signing up for all the accounts, especially filling in the captcha forms. However, this is actually a hurdle than many of your competitors are too lazy to complete.

        #7. Repeat.

    Hi Kurt

    On point 7, you say "repeat", but, say someone has a site which they submit using, for example, socialbookmarker.com, is there an approximate number of times you'd submit each specific site, eg your squidoo lens? What about a landing page? How often would/could you submit the exact same page, without coming across as a spammer? Or is there a time delay, or perhaps even a ratio (eg for every 10 'other' sites you submit, submit your site once)?

      That's extremely helpful, thank you very, very much for the easy to understand steps.

      I'm 100% clear on each step.

      Are the more advanced strategies you mention in step #4 the actions you outline in step #5?

    create the 47 accounts for you...

    i did that before...cost me only 10 bucks

      There are many sites give away collection of social bookmarking sites.
      You can try some SEO sites like submitedge and have a peek on the list.

      From there you can visit each social bookmarking site, make account, and submit your site's url, don't overdo it.

      In social bookmarking sites, the url you submitted will get on top of the rank if you get more votes,
      So if you like tell your friends, or you can do votes your self on your story - of course with different accounts.

      With famous sites like digg or stumbleupon, people say that if your site manage to go on the first page then massive traffic will go to your site, people claim that this can even break down your web server because of the massive traffic.

      Wow that's a little high I think, I got for $8 for someone to create me accounts on 100 sites.
