Well, here's the part I always can't stand, actually choosing a winner when there are more than one I like :-)

I finally ended up with Tiffany as the Winner because it got the closest to what I was looking for.

You want to talk about who's the Greatest Guru?

I'll tell you who is and always has been.

The Warrior Forum

Think about it...seriously...

* In the sheer number of lives changed - who's the greatest Guru?

* In the sheer massive numbers of people helped and taught over the years - who's the greatest Guru?

* In the sheer volume of actual Money Made that the Warrior Forum is directly responsible for - who's the greatest Guru? (We're not even counting 'indirectly' responsible for)

There is no "Human" Internet marketing Guru alive who can even remotely touch those numbers.

I'm sure there are a few 'fanboys' out there who will try to dispute this but only out of ignorance and not knowing the real truth.

You would have to be behind the scenes all these years to really know the "full" impact the Warrior Forum has actually had.

So on with the contest...

I usually just give away things in contests for almost nothing but this time I'm getting something out of it :-)

A Video...

This contest is about creating the Winning Video - a video about the Warrior Forum and how it's helped people over the years.

The winner takes home $1000...

(I've seen great ones produced by members already, for nothing, so this shouldn't be hard for some of you)

Here's the rules...

1. It must be posted on YouTube.com
2. Winner must send me a copy.
3. You must allow me to use it forever.

If you can't agree to those, please don't enter.

I've seen some great videos here and honestly I have no idea what I would use it for but I'm sure I'll come up with something.. :-)

    I do have a question for you. Can we get someone else to do the actual video if we do the work?

    I know a number of things to do with it to advertise this forum, brand you even more, and probably give you a new twist on the forum itself to take it to the next level if you can call it that.

    I won't be making a video, but I'll be an ass kisser on this one and I'll give my vote for THE ADMIN - Allen! You've done a great job keeping this forum for all this time and on a side note even though the load of "duplicate" posts is pretty high these days - you still get far more advanced know-how than what used to be years ago.

      Some of the Warriors here can create Movie Quality Videos.

      It should be interesting to see what they come up with!

      I have a few ideals and was going to enter but I think I wouldn't have a
      Snowballs chance in Hell considering all the talented Warrior Video
      experts this contest will draw in!

              I know I need an flash advisory at the beginning. I run two programs...but that was all hand edited. There were over 200 photographic transitions not including the graphic imaging.

              This next one will be quite different...scaled down a bit ....just purchased the music and some of the footage.

              Bout 50% at this point

    Allen your idea is as always brilliant in multiple ways.

    1. What better way to get the warrior forum down to an alexa ranking top 500 website (thousands of new one way bank links) almost black hat but totally natural ;-)

    2. Massive traffic generation for whatever purpose you want to "bend" that traffic to do for the forum (again brilliant)

    3. Imagine if all of a sudden you decided to sell the forum off (not saying that you would do it anytime soon) what an asset for the investors to see (google, yahoo, msn, Mega conglomerate, etc)

    4. Another great example of how the Warrior Forum made someone cash.

    "Discover How I Made $1,000 With The Warrior Forum Just By Creating A Free Video In 24hrs!"

    And so much much more...

    Your the man Allen. I'd love to sit down with you someday and just talk about "concepts"

    Oh yea just off the top of my head, not meaning to be one of those "fanboys" your talking about but some great guru's off the top of my head and no disrespect intended to you at all, but these two gentlemen alone and combined have "crushed" internet marketing standards and gurus, Ted Nicholas (currently $5.9 Billion Dollars), and Jay Abraham (currently $3.5 Billion and rising) kind of bring the title internet marketings greatest gurus to the top of my head.

    Regardless the warrior forum rocks and its made me plenty of money as well, just by sitting back and getting great ideas for niche marketing.

    So kudos to you Allen for not only sustaining this beast but continuing to find new ways to grow it, and the incentive of "cash" to get people rocking and rolling.

    Maybe I'll make a video as well, who know's you might just pick it ;-)

    Anyone know what the screen size is for youtube? Like if you were doing it as a slide show, what the dimensions of each slide should be? I attempted one but it looks horrible because of the dimensions (I have large black bars on the side of each slide.)

      I create all my videos at 640x480. You Tube will resize them, but they stay at this aspect.

      Okay, so I don't end up wasting time making a video that only I'll be allowed
      to look at, this is what I want to do.

      I want to make a video where I will need to use photos of famous marketers
      who have at one time been members here and there products.

      Will this present a problem with copyright or whatever?

      I don't want to have to contact all these people for their permission. Heck,
      some of them I wouldn't even know how to contact. I think it's free publicity
      for them but I don't know. They may not appreciate it or want me to use
      their images.

      If this is a problem, then here is my alternate proposal.

      If there are any members here who want to be in this video, send me a
      photo of yourself and a graphic of your product or tell me where I can
      get it.

      I know it's not going to have the same effect as showing some of the
      great products in IM history (part of my idea) but I still think it will get
      the general idea across.

      I know my original idea would have killed (especially with original music
      composed by myself) but I don't want to get into any legal trouble.

      Anyway, any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated.

              You can mention somebody's name as long as you don't say anything
              derogatory about them as they could sue you for slander. You have to
              be very careful today. So all I could essentially do is put their name up
              on screen and that's it. Doesn't quite have the same effect.

              Shame, because I know my idea would have kicked some serious butt.

              Oh well, I'm too busy to make videos anyway.

    The problem with using peoples names is that you don't know if what you are saying is true or not.

    For example, if you said or even insinuated that Jonathan Mizel became a success because of the Warrior Forum you would be waaay wrong. I was learning things from Jonathan before the Warriors was even created, back when he was on AOL.

    You could say he was a member here but that would be about it.

    Either way I'm still not comfortable with it. You would be far better off and make a greater impact by using examples of someone not known and was helped to make an extra $2000 a month because of the Warrior Forum.

    Think about what gets the most action here. "Make $50 a Day" ring a bell?

    Don't go past what people think they can do. Throwing up "big" names is for the most part useless...

      That's why you're so good at this Allen...you really know how to look
      beyond the glitz and focus on what's REALLY important. You are SO right.

      The little guy came here with nothing and is now making even just a couple
      grand a month is a much more impressive story than all the big names on
      the planet.

      Having said that, my idea was not to say that these people were succesful
      because of the Warrior Forum. It was more to compare what they have
      accomplished (quite considerable) to what this forum has accomplished.

      In other words, it was to put this forum in perspective because I don't
      think people realize what an impact this place has made. I know what it's
      made on my life. Someday, I will give you a proper thank you. Until then,
      I hope to be able to come up with a video that you can be proud to use.

      Okay, so who wants me to make them famous?

      Well I will say if I win, send half to Michael, best I could do for now with money being so tight. But I am all in for us all giving Allen the rights to our videos if he ends earlier and at least a portion of the winners take is donated to Michael. Great show of why the WF is the greatest guru.

      What we were planning, had lots of legal complexities, and it was going to cost us around $700 in fees to keep it all above board.

      Sorry, would have loved to do this, but the cost and with no guarentee of winning the prize as well as calls to give the winnings to Michael forced us into not been able to compete.

      Thanks, I appreciate it. I spent more time looking for royalty free music loops than actually making the video.

      When I came across that audio loop, I actually re-did almost the entire video to match the music....It's a pretty catchy little music loop...I actually have it in my iPod just to listen to.

          Not sure if there is a setting Tiffany, I did look around to see if I could
          find a setting but I had no luck.

          Heck, What ever you do, Take what I say about YouTube with a big glass of water...

          When Allen created this contest causing me to create my video, It kinda
          forced me to do something I've put off for a long time...lol

          1. Create a YouTube account.
          2. Upload a video to it not even knowing what video format to use!
          3. Watch the darn video many times in amazement because I've never
          seen the words YouTube printed at the bottom of one of my videos before...lol

          Last but not least, to post a few dumb comments in this thread! :p

          Although, If you figure out what it requires to have the High Resolution
          option on YT, Please let me know for future reference. Thanks!

          I'm thinking it may have to do with what format you upload.
          eg, avi, wmv, swf....with avi being higher quality. Just guessing though.

    Well the music he picked out (the only part you hear from the full song) was because I was explaining the concept to him about gurus - how some people call themselves a guru but rip people off.

        Congrats! Nice work.

        I'm interested in where you got the music loop and whether you knew what song it was derived from?

        I recognised it instantly, but then I'm a nerd when it comes to these things.

        It's a slowed-down version of the 'middle-eight' section of a song called -

        'Straight To Hell' by The Clash from their Combat Rock album - one of my many favourites. Although I prefer the song 'Ghetto Defendant' off that album.

        For anyone who isn't too familiar with it/them, you'll possibly recognise the song 'Should I stay or should I go?' or 'Rock the casbah' which were also on the same album.

        I really like the way they've taken that snippet and slowed it down and 'modernised' it...

      The Clash were a punk band, who had their heyday in the late seventies/early eighties - before mainstream knew what the word 'rap' meant!

      They did have a crossover element with punk/reggae, but not rap. You're in the wrong era! Surely you realise I'm an old fart? (Just teasing).

      I'm sure you Americans must know a few of the better known Clash tracks?

      It's a bit politically incorrect but I remember reading that after a poll, the most popular song that is played by US troops in their military vehicles while 'working' in the Gulf is 'Rock the casbah' (for obvious reasons).

      'Should I stay or should I go?' is probably their most famous track, and has been rediscovered by many younger people as it has been used in various worldwide TV advertising campaigns.

      Or the classic 'Bank robber' - which was a reggae style track -

      'Daddy was a bank robber but he never hurt nobody.
      He just loved to live that way and he loved to steal your money.
      Some is rich and some is poor, that's the way the world is.
      I don't believe in lying back and saying how bad your luck is.'

      Ring any bells?

      They don't make 'em (rock bands) like they used to....

      I liked your 'talking head' style video too. Very genuine and courageous to put yourself out there like that - but, if you've got it, you might as well flaunt it! (translated = you look great!)

      Edit - Hi again Tiff,

      I see where the (rap) confusion has come from now - as I posted my first post, other posts where being made which I hadn't seen.

      As with many rap songs nowadays, they just loop a riff underneath the lyrics (or play two older songs 'against' each other (EG ABC vs XYZ)) and what they have done here is to take the riff from the original clash song and re-work it, much slower, to create the 'new' riff for the MIA song.

      (conclusive proof that I am an old fart cus I've never heard of MIA or their song! The only MIA I know is by the Foo Fighters)

      ...about being ripped off - although I imagine MIA haven't ripped anyone off and no doubt have had to pay a royalty to The Clash.

      I will now see if I can find a snippet online of The Clash's version....

      This might not help too much because the snippet is not either the start, or the middle eight part of the song where the actual riff is played...but if you could hear the whole song, you would instantly recognise where the original riff came from...hope that clears it up a bit lol...
