One of the tools you get when you join an affiliate program is an affiliate link. This link is used to promote the affiliate program in the hope that when it is clicked prospective visitors will convert into buying customers and you making money on each sale.

However, there are many Internet criminals out there and they are out to steal your profits. The affiliate link is not only too long and ugly, it is also easy to manipulate. You could be losing sales because other the Internet criminal who simply removes your ID and replaces it with their own.

example 1: Long Ugly Affiliate URL
'http://www.dynavert.biz/cgi-bin/readcsvplus.pl?con fig=assocconfig.pl&nikname=affiliatesuperstar=10'

example 2: Shorter URL
http://www.yourdomainname.com

Protect your affiliate url by framing your affiliate link with an appropriate domain url. Do not use a forwarding domain url because your affiliate link will still show up on the final page. It must be a framed redirect. Do this and you will protect your commissions.

Actually, with some browsers and standard settings, unless the VENDORS site is setup right, or doesn't use cookies in the frame, and it does NOT redirect to https in that frame, do that and you may LOSE commissions!
