Keywords - how are you finding them?

I am curious, as I look around, getting keywords for niches...

There are keyword mining tools, and there is the Google tool to look up keywords, although
I it is not serving up all the niche keywords under a major keyword that it used to. Or you can pay someone to do the research...

1. What do you want when you look for keywords?

2. How are you getting your keyword research done?

3. If you pay to have someone do it, what are you paying for? (what is included in that list)?

4. Mind telling me how much you pay? I see seo companies asking $99 for around 150 keywords.

5. How handy have you found the memberships to be that send you so many packages of keywords researched, along with articles, etc for the niche per month? Is a lot of it just sitting on your harddrive?

Inquiring mind here.

Thanks.

Jeannie

That's kind of how I do my research as well.

I did some research yesterday on keyword tool software offers on Clickbank and otherwise. It had me really curious, because I still think the human factor is needed when it comes to analyzing what is going to work.

But having the main research handed to you is nice. I use Keyword Snatcher part of the time.

I saw that 150 keywords offer on a professional seo site. Probably priced for those people that don't know how to do it, when they have them make or seo their site.

In themselves, they are not good for brainstorming new niches.

I do my own kw research. Over time, I have gotten a feel for them and can quickly see if there is BOTH enough searches AND not little competition.

To find the best keywords, I recommend drilling down and down, narrowing the sub-niche as you go. Use the Google auto-suggest for inspiration, I think this is a very underrated tool. It even reveals new niches that are not yet showing in the regular keyword tool.

btw where did you see companies selling 150 kws for 100 bucks? Do they seriously sell any? I'd love to know.

Another cool tool for "drilling" way down on sub niches that I use is the Google Wonder Wheel. That is found in the "advanced search" column to the left of the main Google search page.

I am solely using that for my long tail keyword searches and ideas.

holla guys, I use market analytics by Google to find a lot of them & surely it takes time but the results are for real.

I dont have to wait for a freelancer's reply or a firm's email so that i can look for the assured results as promised by them.

Its so easy to talk about keyword research but when it comes to analyze the depth to which the research will be made, it gets truly complex task for a person to go for it
