My Results from a 301 Re Direct
For anyone thats interested here is sequence of events and reports for our actions in doing a 301 re direct on a site that had No 1 Position in SERP for its main search term and very high rankings for many others.
1/ Created new site with good url and launched it (relevant url ) www.searchphrase.com
2/Added some links and got site Indexed.
3/Over a 3 week period we added more links Site showed as no 139 for main search phrase
4/ Activated 301 re direct for each page of old site and informed google via web master tools
5/ SERP position remained the same for 24 hours ( mostly no 1 and a few no 2 & 3 SERP )
5/ Noticed that whilst the url had not changed the Title tag was showing from new new site
7/ Old site disapeared from SERP New site still no 139
8/ Anxious waiting !!!
9/ 36 hours later New site back in No 1 spot on Google search
10/ Breathed a Very Big Sigh of Releif
