How effective is Google News in Internet Marketing?

Hey guys,

do you really think that people visit google news as well as google search?? Getting inside google news is pretty easy too!! will it really bring some traffic? Is it helpful for internet marketing? Recently I read in an article that around 40 million (may be more now, if it was true -the article was a little old) people visit google news..!

What do you think? Is it (google news placement) helpful for business?

    I've had a number of my press release/articles appear in Google News, and I've picked up a few well-paying clients, as a result. So yes, it can be helpful to show up in Google News.

    Iv'e had press releases get picked by Google news also - I have had alot of views that way - it can't hurt to use it.

    I guess it would come down to what you are using it for - is what you are promoting really news? - is there a wave of interest you are trying to ride on?

    Do you understand what Google News is? You're not supposed to see ads, there aren't any. The site consists of news headlines.

    It's great because not only do other news agencies pick up stories from Google News, tons of niche sites also pull their content from G News.. the end result is nothing short of fantastic -- if you publish the right story.

    With that in mind, a lame press release probably won't do you as much good as a quality news story, afterall nobody really cares about your business as much as you do.

    But if you can write something in a non-promotional way, and inform the reader, while presenting yourself as an expert.. well, that can be very powerful marketing indeed.

      Yeah, that's true.! Many of my google news picked submissions were distributed to many small blogs and sites. It will bring backlinks too. But I've never seen good traffic with this.

    google news can be very helpful to your search engine ranking via press releases if you deal with the major pr firms who does pr blasts with a mixture of seo and social media stuff it can be helpful if you keep at it

      But I think, the very next moment one similar press release arrives (in the same category) our release will be dropped! Like a short term help!
