Hey guys,

I just thought I share this with you. If you have a student in your household and live in US, you may be able to upgrade to Windows 7 for $40.

JourneyED has a special going on right now where you can upgrade to Win7 for $40.

Student Software Discounts

This is not an affiliate link. Just go over there, go through the selection process and see if you qualify.

They also have a Win7 and Office 2010 bundle for like $115. Hope this helps.

      It has to be an illegal (copied) version because it costs $119.99 for the premium upgrade and $219.99 (it's the one I have) for the Ultimate upgrade.

        it's not an illegal copy. As far as i know, this is a legit website. The reason why you can get it for $40 is because you are eligible for an educational discount. That includes students, teachers, etc.

        Therefore, if you don't have anyone in your household that is not a student or a teacher, you can't get that discount. They are very strict on who can get the discount and require the proper paperwork/proof that you or someone in your house is a student/teacher.

    Genuine Windows is so cheap in the United States.

    It costs MYR500 where I live (Windows 7 Professional).

    Thanks for this. My fiance is a psych major; now I can upgrade her machine without shelling out the extra dough. Sweet.

    See, now this is marketing. I've always respected MicroSoft for releasing these licenses and their approach to the educational sector in general. Talk about creating brand awareness!
