y BIG AHA moment that helped me take my biz to the next level

Hey guys,

I was reading some posts on the WF here and found some really good posts so I decided to share something with you that has changed my business and have helped me in my biz and my life tremendously.

In fact, when I learned about this few years back, I had a BIG AHA moment. Now, you may or may not have heard about this but if you haven't, I hope you will get the same AHA moment as I did.

What is it? Let me explain...

Remember when you were in grade school and teachers constantly said to you: "You know what Johnny, you need to work on your math skills or work on your reading skills." Then, tyhey would talk to your parents and tell them that Johny's weakness is "fill in the blank here" and he needs to work on it and get much better at it.

Well, when it comes to business and growing it and making more money, most entrepreneurs have the same mindset. I'm not very good at writing copy so I need to get better at it. I'm not very good at creating videos so I need to get better at it. I'm not very good at writing articles so I need to get better at it. Most of the time, they don't even like doing it.

Here's the big AHA moment (credit goes to Rich Schefren).

Instead of working on your weaknesses, figure out exactly what your strengths and your weaknesses are and then work on your strengths. Improve your strength as much as you can. Be the best "fill in your strength here" in the world. Keep working on that strength until you are a total master at it.

But what about the weaknesses?

Well, you look for people who are really good at your weaknesses and then, you let them do that work. I mean think about it, when you are best at what you do and you are surounded by people who are best at what they do, (best at your weaknesses), you now have a "best of the best" in every department in your company.

But you can't hire people yet?
That's where outsourcing comes in. Instead of working on your weaknesses, you find really good outsourcers and hire them to work on your weak spots.

I know that some of you might be like: "Well, daaaa Peter. That's a no brainer!"

But ask yourself this: Are you doing that in your business right now? Are you working on your strengths and hire/outsource the weaknesses? If not, start asap.

When you start doing that, your business will grow faster than you can imagine and you'll make more money faster than you thought it was possible.

What was your AHA moment? Share your with us here.

For everyone in US, Happy 4th of July!

To Your Success,

Peter

Thanks Mohammad. I appreciate your feedback.

I wish some would have told me this many years ago. For me, this was HUGE!

Great point Peter, I had learned the same thing before having it reinforced by Rich, but equally blown away by that Aha moment!

Since then, it has even changed the way I try to help my kids learn and plan for the future...much less time trying to focus on improving their weaknesses (the focus of the school system) and much more time on building on their strengths (actually discouraged by the school system as they want everyone to be at the same level).

Another AHA moment for me came about 10-years ago when I took the skills I had packaging knowledge and information into various training and consulting systems & created my own...not realizing at the time the massive leverage that got me in terms of branding, scale (licensing opportunities, spin-off products, jv projects, etc...)

If I had one word of advice from this AHA moment it would be to focus what you do well into a product or service that you OWN and can leverage through various channels to spin out multiple income streams.

Great point man. I think that sometimes, we get so engaged into our own business that we forget our strengths and use them to our advantage.

Sometimes, we need to step back and take a closer look at our business and ourselves.

By the way, thanks for bringing up the 'focus' factor. It's a huge part of anyones success and yet, it's sometimes overlooked.

That right there is the secret sauce.

What I'll add to that is Relationships & Networking. These two are so powerful it just amazes me. Let's face it. The world is getting smaller by the day. Social media is revolutionizing the way in which we do business.

A great example of this is Perry Belcher with his tweeter following.

You are right Alex. Social media is definitely changing the business landscape.

Quick question for you, in what way are you referring to Perry's twitter following? Can you elaborate? I'm sure there are many people here that would greatly benefit from this.
