Does the niche matter if you are going to do it maybe flipping websites? I say this because I see sites on flippa that are not even close to being finished design wise.. plus whatever the site topic is the site(s) some of them are selling for alot just saying.. obviously you can't produce crap..but some are crap but their selling. So does the niche site topic matter?

Of course niche matters... not only in flipping blogs/websites but also for affiliate earnings and others... Without successful niche you can never be a successful marketer... even in your real life business.

yep - the niche matters, for two reasons:

    1) number of "customers"

    2) average amount spend by customer

for flipping sites i find that low customers but high value niche generates lower return then loads of customers with low value niche

Yes, because if you are targeting a specific sector of a qualified market you will find that there is a high demand and a limited supply for that particular product or service. The more targeted your product/service - the more qualified your prospect will be - the higher conversions you'll get.

Of course, it does. And as for the why, you just answered that in your post.

Also Many newbs most often Always look for the Big Markets thinking that if the market is so big that they can get their share fairly easy. (weight loss, finance, etc..)
I couldn't tell you how many times I have seen asked here "What is the highest or Best paying niche?"

It takes awhile (at least a week) before they realize what they are up against and decide to be more specific in their targeting. So, many newbs use Flippa to get their start thinking it is all fun and games after the site is up. Certainly creating the site is the hardest part?

I will probably repeat what other people said here, but website flipping is B2B... nobody will buy a website for the pleasure of it in Flippa (or at least, it is not a winning strategy to expect it).

So, what is the main objective of a business? to make money.

What are the customers looking for when buying a website? Another means to make money.

A website without a market has no value.

    And there is more...
if you can provide proof of income, it will add value.
if it already has traffic or a customer base, it will add value.

Design in business is a 100 bucks issue... the least important part of it.

If you are doing site flipping, I think it matters in regards to demand for that niche. Some niches get hot and everyone wants one, or a site like that.

Others will take some time to move, and you need to plan accordingly.
