Capture Page? How & Why

Well starting to build up a mortgage site I have. Placing 10 uniqe articles on the site and will be doing some heavy backling work (so far the site up as it is now gets 125-140 direct type ins a day)

From other webmaster forums they suggest I also make sure I capture them? Never got a real clear answer on this but what I belive they mean is capture there email address by offering something to sign up. Ooookkk I have nothing to "give away" other then the articles on the site for information.

Beign a mortgage site I seen other "capture or landing pages" and man they look so spammy and bad. Is this something I need to do (get emails) since I have no "product" to give them nor a newsletter? My site really is a information site and adsense/affiliate banners.

How would you best monetize a mortgage site besides the banners.

    Your last question really answered itself. If you want to monetize an information site, you provide good information and offer even better information when people opt in. That's the start of your email list, and you can then use this list to market to them, which monetizes your site.

    Simple in principle, needs action in practice. Make your site even more attractive by embedding a video or two.

      Ok, but besides the unique articles I will have what else can I offer them? What mortgage affiliate plans or offers are out there to send via email to customers? Again If I have there email, I have nothing to give to them.

        You have unique articles? Great! Why don't you compile a top 10 list of frequently asked questions people have about mortgages and compile it as a special report and offer the PDF as an incentive for people to sign up to your list?

        Then you can market all kinds of things to them. From ebooks on mortgages, how to manage their finances, etc. Don't just think of them as people who want to know something about mortgages, think what else could people be interested in that are interested in mortgages?

    Ok guys...YES its making more sense. I like the ideas thrown at me and it has got my jucies flowing....NOW what template, free service do I use to "capture" those email address? I hat the look of those spammy landing pages so something maybe generic but straight to the point.

      Aweber is one of the premiere email marketing services online, and they have free templates that you can use to place on your website. You can customize the fields, colors, and do a lot of other neat things.

      You can just generate the opt-in form with Aweber, and then place it on your website (they give you the source code). I use Aweber, and love the service they provide.

        I agree with Aweber. This is the best plugin that can help you generate leads through opt ins.
