ClickBank sales is 0 the last 3 day - Who else has this problem?

Hello eveyone,

I was doing an average 5 sales per day on Clickbank until this Thursday, 23rd of October - since then I have ZERO (0) sales and I haven't changed anything on my salesletter or sales process, so definately it's not my fault.

Here is what I believe is the problem about Clickbank's order page:

They added a drop-down currency converter on their order page and it's automatically identify your country and convert it into your country's currency (If you're in Europe it makes the currency in EUR) and that number scares your buyers because they expect to see for example a $47 USD and they see 38 EUR (and this confuses them and leave)

Anyone else who have noticed zero sales (or at least a DECREASE on sales)?

J.

Same thing here. I was consistently getting sales up until the last few days, then it seems to have just vanished into thin air! Very frustrating.

I'm just going to keep on as usual, things will get better. Hopefully if CB is having problems it will straighten out.

Sales are down across the board... it's not just Clickbank. I had a good week last week but my website sales are way down this week. I think it's due to ecomonic fears. It's making things real erratic. Many people are just scared to death at the moment and won't make any but essential purchases. It will come around again.

I had this problem, but now starting to pick up some sales again. I went for 3-4 weeks without a single sale, but now everything seems to be back to normal, lol.

Exactly the same here, at least with Clickbank anyway. I stopped checking my sales stats after the second week of no sales.

After the end of the third week after sales had previously stopped, it's like someone switched the light back on and customers started showing up again.

      P.S

That's sales for you - it's impossible to expect consistency. You have to keep adding more product lines and more traffic to the point of drops in sales not making a difference to whether you can afford to pay the bills or not.

socratous139, how is your traffic the past few days compared to normal?

My sales are normal the past few days, but then most of mine are within the US, so people would not be using the currency converter thing. I doubt that alone would cut sales by a huge amount.

    Hey guys and ladies,

Here is my own take on this.

I really think that their tracking software is NOT doing its job. I have made 2 sales in one month and I am a full time internet marketer.

I am making the decision to NEVER promote them in my newsletter or on my websites ever again.

It does seem to work sometimes though - I'm still making sales even though my overall conversion rate is down. I know quite a few merchants that have been contacted by potential customers who had tried to purchase their product but couldn't, so there's obviously a problem though. That coupled with the economy has really affected alot of peoples sales.

I too have had emails from potential customers saying they tried to pay but they couldn't with Clickbank.

I think there is a problem and I am not too keen on the currency converter box.

The only reason being is it is not needed and just brings in another "leak" for potential customers to escape the payment page.

Also with the current financial situation that can't help much.

I am sure things will pick up though.

          All the best

And you get a really lousy exchange rate as well.
Bought something on Tuesady night and the payment page defaulted to EUR. Checked the rate and found it not so good. Switched the settings to USD and paid. So I got the correct exchange rate for the day from my credit card company.

I have been saying for months..

    CB has tracking issues...

I am NOT one to scream the sky is falling, and I have ridiculed folks in the past for claiming that CB is scamming affiliate's... I don't think they are purposely doing it... but CB has tracking issues right now

As a clickbank affiliate, my sales are up this week. Of course, so are my marketing efforts

With that being said, my conversions are all holding steady.

I haven't had any sales since Tuesday. Before that I was make atleast one a day. But I've also been working more on my other job and haven't had a lot of time for IM lately, so maybe that could be the problem too.

Sales have increased a bit, but I'm seeing a lower conversion rate when people are already at the Order Page. I mean, you're already pumped up to buy when you're already on the Order Page, but nly around 20% actually went through with the actual buying process.

      Hi Michael,

That's why I am 99% sure that the problem is the currency converter box that Clickbank added to their order page. If you're in UK or Europe you'll see that the price is automatically converted into different currency and it drives customers away - either because of the USD rate or because they see a different number on the order page than your salesletter.

Fortunately, my sales are doing well right now but they definitely have some issues going on.

My affiliate sales were low for a bit last month and this month I have had several people email me telling me that Clickbank won't process their order for my own ebook.

      Hi Folks

I usually have had some sales each day on affiliate side of things.

I have had no sales since Thursday as well which is highly unusual. My traffic is consistent and so is my conversion rate (through testing) and no sales all of a sudden - maybe it's the currency converter thing here for Europe (U.K.)

I'm not overly worried though - I'm sure that when clickbank see that it's hurting their bottom line things will be corrected very soon.

My non-US sales through Clickbank have been zero since Thursday too.

US sales seem fairly normal though.

If it is caused by the currency converter, it should be easy to fix: just force it to display whatever currency the merchant chooses and let the customer change it if they wish.

    Tommy.

It's their credit card processor - they apparently have this problem with a "failsafe" thing - whereby they see perfectly good CC's as fraudulent.

It's downright disgusting that they can even think about not addressing the issue - it's crushing businesses everywhere (especially with confidence so low in the economy already).

I'm totally looking at other options... but somehow CB still seems attractive to me.

Since mid October I have had no Sales on Clickbank. I normally have at least a few each week. As I do promote other products as well and only few from clickbank. The thing is, I created another account and my sales are still not showing up. Another problem is that I had around 600+ tracked clicks and now it shows only 432 so something is up, and in order not to scratch my head, I will change my marketing strategies and go with a different affiliate company.

I have noticed the same thing, and I'm currently not promoting anything that involves ClickBank.

I actually did a promotion that would have normally netted me thousands of dollars, but somehow I only made about 10 sales.

That is extremely unusual for the list I sent this promotion to. Which is a list of buyers.

Oddly enough I sent a similar promotion with a non-click bank product and the sales went through the roof.

That is enough for me to question... what is going on.

I dropped Clicbank a month ago because of this.

My CPA campaigns are performing better than ever. No problems there.

I just ran a small 12 hour test with Clickbank and Facebook ads

    Results:

76 Clicks to my landing page from Facebook Ads
    27 Clicks to merchant page
    1 Sale

    Total spent on clicks $19.95
    Comission $31.85
    Profit $11.9

That is about normal, but too soon to tell. I will let the test run for a week and publish the results.

I understand ClickBank implemented automatic currency conversion on the checkout page at the end of October.

For example, if your product costs USD$47 and someone in New Zealand clicked on the purchase button, the price he sees on the checkout page might be something like NZD $90 dollars.

This might be confusing to customers and, if the figure is higher, as above, it may appear "more expensive" to the prospective customer than the price they saw on your sales page.

I guess the only way to know for sure is if you test it on your own site.

The good news is, I understand you have the option to disable this feature in your clickbank account if you do not want automatic conversion.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[225731].message }}
    • Profile picture of the author ebooks4u
You can contact Clickbank and ask them to turn off the automatic conversion feature on your account(s) via the contact form on their website. They will have to disable each product individually rather than disabling it by "account"... so just let them know if you add additional products, and they will disable them, as well.

Keep in mind that you can still offer products in different currencies. In this case, you simply set up a unique product for each currency you wish to accept. For example, if you want to offer the same e-book in USD and GBP, you can set up two separate products in the "My Products" section of your account.

Set up product 1 with a default currency of USD, and product 2 with a default currency of GBP.

When a consumer clicks a payment link for product 1, they are shown the order form in USD at the price specified for product 1. If they click a payment link for product 2, they see the GBP price specified for product 2. In both cases, the consumer will not have the ability to choose a different currency for payment.
