Which WordPress to use for site that needs to look like a "normal" static html site?

Hi.

I am looking for a few WordPress themes that are well SEO optimized and very easy, to modify, so that the blog looks pretty much like a regular static html site.

Any good ideas?

    There are plenty of them out there. You would probably want to use a one-column theme and disable the comments feature on your posts. Check my link for a wordpress theme that more less looks like that (more less).

      Very Easy. Find a theme on wordpress

      Then set the homepage to "static" and create Pages only. Use Full width template option when creating pages. No sidebars just simple menu and pages.

      First create a page with full width that you want to be your homepage/index page.

      Then to make it the your homepage go to Wordpress > Settings > Reading > and set Front page displays to "A static page", select the page from the dropdown.

        You can try once Inov theme. There you can set a page without any sidebar or anything else. You can even set a page as a sals page.

    wow that's a broad question. But basically when you got your wordpress theme, install some good plugins like "All In One Seo". As for the static page, it's easy to do this, you just go to settings -> reading and then choose the page that you want to be static.

    Hope that helps. I created my blog that way. I have a home page, some other pages and the blog within it.

    I'd just disable the sidebar and make the homepage a static page instead of the blog post format.

    There are a couple of Great webinars on OfferVault done by Dustin Bow. They were all about WP. The last one showed how to set up WP to look and work like a regular website. I tried to give you the link but I don't have enough posts. Just go to Offervault .com. The last webinar is at the top of the page under "weekly training webinars"
    If you look through the archive you will find the first video. They are both worth watching. )
