Can you explain "squeeze pages"?

I am new to all this and I am not sure I understand. So your squeeze page is ONLY for enlarging your email list and NOT to sell your product? All the squeeze pages I have seen are selling at the bottom, not collecting email addresses.

Can you post some GOOD squeeze pages that I can model mine after? I have an ebook that I wrote that I am trying to sell and I have had 151 visitors and NO sales. Okay, so it hasn't been up that long but I would have been happy with ONE sale by now!

My squeeze page is ONLY to sell the product, so this must be wrong? Please help! Thanks!

    Hi Marsha,

    That's a salespage.

A squeeze page is squeezing them for an opt-in (email address) - usually by bribing them with a freebie after opting in.

Some people will also redirect automatically to a salespage AFTER the opt in to try and get an immediate sale after obtaining their email.

    Does that explain?

EXACTLY... What Marsha is referring to is a sales page a squeeze page, aka as a splash page, is made with the main objective of collecting opt-in signatures in order to create a list. And yes, MANY do route you to an actual sales page after you have opted in.

ah, so I am confusing sales page with squeeze page! Then I have a sales page and I should be starting with a squeeze page. Can you post excellent ones of both that you would recommend I model (won't copy) so I can try and actually get a sale? Thanks!

        Hi Marsha,

some sales letter add a capture form lately, but it is ok if you keep it simple...

here is one I did for a client: Yum PLR

it is actually a membership website, but the front is mainly the squeeze.

I can't say if you can call it "excellent", but it is working...

the best squeezes I have seen lately are video squeezes. Will see if I find any of them.

ok, from what I received today... two other guys I know a bit, these are sales letters:

        http://www.thenicestblog.com/

        http://www.undergroundsellingsystem....cial_training/

both have video, but the first one is a mix of video and long sales letter, while the second is just video, and after you see the whole thing you can access the sales letter (I didn't see it, so I don't know, have seen others).

this one is a typical long sales letter, in your face style:

        http://affiliateblackbook.com/may-special.php

and it has an exit pop up, if you try to move out of the page, you get a pop up with a squeeze, so they don't lose the lead.

maybe someone else can add others... I like Russel video squeezes, just can't find any now.

There's a terminology difference here that confused me for some time.

In certain circles, a "squeeze page" is any page whatsoever that provides exactly one permitted action. There's either only one link, or every link on the page points to the same place. This is called a squeeze page because it doesn't give you any choices or options: it squeezes the visitor into one and only one option.

In the same way, a "landing page" is any page whatsoever where people first enter your site (as though they have flown in from the previous site: this is where they are landing*). You're not entirely in control of that - if I make a link from my site to your site, whatever page I've linked to on your site becomes a landing page, whether you want it to be or not.

Somewhere along the line, these terms were adopted by the internet marketing community, and radically altered. Now, a "squeeze page" is almost always an opt-in page, and a "landing page" is almost always a sales page.

The confusing part is that in both cases, the page is BOTH under the old terminology. It's a "landing page" where people enter your site, and a "squeeze page" where you have only one option ("join" or "buy" respectively).

There are undoubtedly some few places on the internet that use the old terminology, and provide sales pages as examples of squeeze pages.

      * - And boy, are their arms tired.

So its a sales page used to maximum potential. It is usually just made with a good theme and template but what would happen is, they would have adsense in common spots where high CTR is and then the text will talk about buying a clickbank product, it may have a gateway on the whole page and on top of that, it make take you to another paid advertiser when you click a link on the website. It will probably also have a email submit thing so they can gather emails. That is a squeeze page, they get EVERYTHING they can from the customer. Think of Toaster Strudel. In the morning when I make it, I don't like to waste icing so I stand there for 5 minutes squeezing a drop of icing out of a little plastic bag thing. Think of it like that.

    Hope that helps.

sorry, you lost me somewhere... sales letters are for selling your own product... and you NEVER in a million years put adsense there.

sales letters ans squeezes are direct response type of marketing; the visitor has only two choices: do what is required (buy or provide the info) or get out of there.

you are kind of describing a review type of site, maybe?

Hey.. A squeeze page is basically a perfect way to collect email adresses to grow your list.. I see your trying to sell your Ebook, and what you need in order to sell your ebook is a Sales page.. Now here is a technique that will certainly boost your sales, When creating a sales page to sell your Main Ebook, you want as well give the custumor that visits your Page a little treat, thats where you include a free Give away. And in order to claim this free give away they'll have to put in there Email adress.. Now can you see the potencial of this?! Even if they dont purchase your ebook at that moment, They could purchase in the long term, due to sending them Emails that promote your website.. It's a win-win situation, You build a List that could generate income in the long years to come.. It's the perfect Cycle.

They dont purchase your ebook > They claim a free Give Away > You build a list > Promote your Website > They finally purchase your Ebook.

    I hope helped.
    Take care

    Marsha,

You definitely want to use a combination of squeeze and sales pages, not just one or the other.

The setup can be done in a number of ways, but here is how I've structured my flow:
    Ad ----> Sales Page
If product purchased -----> Squeeze page to receive product updates
    and support.
Exit Sales Page ------> Redirect to Squeeze Page where they can
opt-in as "preferred members" and receive
    an instant discount on product.
After opt-in from redirect, they are taken to -----> Sales Page #2
    (discounted product)

I also have an opt-in form on my website. When they sign up, I offer the product on the "Thank You" page with a special member's only price link (Sales Page #2).

There are lots of ways you can combine the two, but the most valuable thing is the list!

  • Squeeze pages are landing pages created to solicit opt-in email addresses from prospective subscribers.

One of the standard squeeze page designs is simply a "short and sweet" design that has a strong, compelling headline, followed by a few benefits (possibly in bullet point form) and then an optin box with a call to action.
If your headline and benefits are compelling enough, then this squeeze page template may give you a good optin rate.
As with anything online, you will never know just how effective one design is until you test it against another design.

Wow, thanks everybody! To say the least I am a bit over whelmed. I am a relationship coach and I work with those whose spouse's have had affairs and I wrote an ebook on "How to catch a cheating spouse" but I can't put the link here since I don't have enough posts so I can't show it to you, sorry!

I am not sure if I should hire it out and if so how do I know they are good and what is a good price for someone that is good? So, I need to change this to a real squeeze page to get email addresses but now I have to think of something to give away.

Now, when I get these email addresses then what? Do I have some kind of e-course where they get emails every 3 days? Do I start selling to them right away or do I wait until the third email? LOL! Can you tell I'm very new at this!
