What I Have Learned So Far In IM World

Hi,

Just a tip to all. Forget the tutorials and reads books and books of info and advice, just do it get into those programs and use and learn as many software programs u will make errors then go back to the tutorials.

I wasted so much time on them.

Good luck.

Good post! Get into it and learn as you go is the best way for me too. There are too many distractions all around.. I'm glad you were able to refocus again. Good luck!

I agree just do it. Once you have read enough just set up a site and start adding content to it regularly. Once you see the traffic and money trickle in, that should motivate you to step it up and grow it.

The reason why most newbies fail, or give up at a very early stage, is they didn't take action, or took action but not that much. They suffer from info overload and jump in from one method to another, and if that didn't work again, they'll just jump to another one, and the cycle continues to flow like that until they give up and say "I tried everything but nothing worked". See, that the reason, when you tried everything. You should avoid trying out everything. Just work on to something that you truly believe in and focus on it. If you've mastered that, time to try another thing, you should take it one step at a time.

So by taking action and sticking with it, you'll be able to learn, then grow it. i'm not saying that it will let you become successful, but at least you are developing your focus instead of jumping to a lot of methods frequently.

Stick with it first, then see the results before moving on to something else.

Taking action is important, paralysis through analysis is and issue for many. A solid business model, not fooling yourself on what it takes to succeed and putting the right effort into your direction is the key. Your business model needs to be a solid long term plan.

Action quells anxiety, which is the reason for information overload.

Why else would an IM'er research so deeply? Because they are afraid of not knowing enough and failing. It's as if the "study for test mindset" from our school days plagues us . Study, prepare, study, prepare. Wait for the Big Day. In the IM world the Big Day is today. Hit the ground running or else you aren't going anywhere.

Tutorials are great but don't do anything for you until you do something with them.

The only way to earn is to apply what you learn. I like what you said Ernie it resonates with how I feel about moving into action/results. Make a few sales and watch the self-confidence soar. Even if it's 5 or 10 bucks it feels like the floodgates just opened up after months of no revenue. This motivates you to learn more, move into action and earn more.

I get what you are trying to say, and I think that not taking action is something that keeps many people from success. However, I also think that just diving in without any real purpose or business plan will also set you up for failure.

I think that you need to formulate a plan that has a likelihood of working (you may not know until you try). This is why it is beneficial for many newbies to invest in coaching or enroll in a mentoring program that can teach them how to setup a reliable business model, drive traffic to that model, and sustain a long-term business online.

This sounds like me. I'm going through the article marketing approach and after 80+ badly written and spun articles I did by myself, I'm still getting nowhere.

Take action Now but keep learning.

I agree get started right away and then patch up your mistakes
however come back and learn more.

I have a distant relative who paid for expensive College courses
regarding Internet Marketing. (Yes the one advertised everywhere online)
Although it was very structured, she added that all the information
could have easily been found for free in forums and just by searching!
There were no hidden secrets and the cost was in the Thousands.

Long story short, keep learning for free.
