Article Marketing..What Really Is It

So I been seeing some post on article marketing but im still fresh in the water on SEO and such.

So are the articles the same content you may have on your website sent to article sites for others to use? Or are they articles completly diffrent from the content you have on the website?

And how do you make money sending in articles? Are they refering to the links in the articles coming back to your site?

Thank You

It can be but its advisable to use a different article to submit to article directories.

Most of the time, its different.

Yes, the links coming back to your site. You make money in the following ways

    a) The link from article takes visitor to your site and take action (purchase, click, register, buy, etc)

    b) The link from article ranks your site on Google which then gets visitors to your site and take action (purchase, click, register, buy, etc)

    c) The articles you submit on directories are used by others on their site or blogs which then (a) gets traffic from their blogs to your site and (b) improve your search engine rankings.

    d) All of the above except the link on the articles is your affiliate link itself. In that case, when someone clicks, you are closer to making money because the visitor doesn't go to your site. It goes immediately to the action page where he/she can buy, click, register, etc.

This makes sense.....Use a text link from one of my affiliates in the article and/or my own link back to my site.....maybe get a content write to do 10 articles on diffrent topics of my niche and spread those around the artile submitters.

Also whats best for words when sending 100-200-300 what seems to be used the most?

Different views. If you ask most, they'll say 400-500. Few would say 800-100. Anik and the like would say 200-300. But I say its not as important as the number of ARTICLES you submit. 30 articles submitted daily regardless of how many words beats 2 articles submitted with 200-300 words.

Focus on the number of articles you submit. One a day.

Its better if you outsource this. Its dirt cheap.

There's been alot of debate on that topic around here, but really, there's no magic answer. The length of each article depends on the topic and what kind of information you have. For many articles, 400-500 words is just right. For others, you can have 700 or 1,000 compelling, informative words.

I can tell you, though, my company doesn't even write articles that are shorter than 400 words because one of the main points of article marketing is to give readers new information. You want them to come away from your article thinking, 'Wow, I didn't know that!'. You just can't do that in 200 words.

Bottom line - you want to inform them, without making your content too long. You don't want them to zone out or get bored before they make it to your resource box.

Certain article sites rank well, are spidered quickly, and allow outbound links, which makes them a good place to post content with links to your sites.

I personally don't submit to article directories anymore. I haven't for over a year. I use a method that is much more effective - at least for me. After publishing my articles on my own site first, I submit them directly to one or two select, respected, high-traffic websites for publication - and it's working beautifully. Potential clients read my articles, and contact me about projects. In fact, it's working so well, I'm actually turning clients away right now, because I'm so busy.

Speaking of which, another one of my articles is featured on the front page of SiteProNews, as we speak. And yes, all of my articles link directly back to my website.

Great article "The Pervasion of Disrespectful Marketing." I'd like to follow your lead, and my question is: how do you find good sites like site pro news to query?

Thank you for your kind words. I appreciate it. The easiest way to find quality websites like SiteProNews is to do a Google search using the keyword phrase, "internet marketing news websites."

In case you're interested in reading more of my work, here's the entire list of articles I've had featured on the front page of SiteProNews.

Pretty cool David. I still think that submitting to article directories can have a lot of merit, when done correctly. The problem with submitting to article directories is that 2 years ago you could submit articles and get 100 views (or more) to each article overnight.

Now, if you submit an article in a mainstream category you may only get 10-20 views initially, if that.

With ezinearticles.com being so overcrowded right now, I use other websites (much like David does) in addition to ezinearticles.com. If you are going to use ezinearticles, it is more important than ever to focus on keyword research, and write high quality articles (in my opinion).

Thank you, Matthew. I appreciate your kind words. Submitting to respected, high-traffic websites like SiteProNews has been an absolute godsend for me. Because of the article marketing method I'm currently using, I am now at a point in my life where financially, I can afford to turn down work - and I do, every single day.

I can't begin to tell you how wonderful that feels. You'd be absolutely amazed what having your articles featured on the front page of a website like SiteProNews can do for your business. Everybody who's anybody reads SiteProNews. And ironically, it all started about a year ago with an article I read on SiteProNews titled, The Misunderstood Marketing Method.
