I just noticed in certain categories ezinearticles has reduced the number of most viewed, most published sections from 15 to 10. They've replaced and added a new section related articles.

It's a good move. This ensures that you have a chance to get more views if your article was targetting the same keywords the other article targetted.

Here's a tip:

Find the most viewed articles and write an article related to it with the same keywords and the same (keyword ratio - what's the technical term for it? no wait, i guess it's keyword density).

So simple yet so effective.

The move I believe is to stop certain bluefarters from manipulating the system. One guy got all of his articles published 2500-3000 times by using some bluefart techniques.

Ezine are working on the solution still. I think this is a move to track down on those nuts.

This is also a great way for ezinarticles to spread their backlinks around and give each article more internal SEO link value.

I think this will be beneficial for both traffic and rankingz. There will always be someone who have written a similar article.

  I love ezine articles, it is damn effective when you understand the steps involved for getting your content ranked.
  
  I like your idea about emulating successful content. Many people would be wise to heed those words and apply it across the boards in all their marketing. Find out what is working and just do it a hare better.

I don't think that their is a direct correlation between number of article views, and increased search engine rankings. However, I will say that the more views your article has the more likely other websites will link to you.

This, combining with the powerful inter-linking structure of ezinearticles will increase your search engine rankings.
