No. 1 in Google out of 31,900,000 pages! (not me unfortunately!)

My girlfriend just did a google search for SAW 5 TRAILER (she wanted to see the trailer of the movie), and in the number 1 spot is a fairly crappy blogger blog! Take a look... I'm amazed and inspired! Here's the site (not mine) http://saw-5---trailer.blogspot.com/

How did he do it? Its just a basic blog with a few postings and not much content. And why isn't he monetizing the traffic anywhere near as well as he could be? How frustrating!

I'd have an opt-in form on there so I can email my list when the DVD comes out, or try to find a cinema ticket affiliate programme and hammer the list with that. I'd have the adsense placed a lot better too, for more clicks. i.e right under the videos.

    The true competition of that keyword is 55,000 search results (when done in quotation marks). Still pretty impressive. He used a hyphenated domain name for the keyword, stuffed the blog with the keyword and I take it he backlinked the living hell out of it.

    Pretty much like I did in my http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...imization.html thread example. He also used a lot of video which I'm sure helped with the rankings.

    He seems to have an impressive network of backlinks working very effectively for him from his other movie blogs.

    Although from 4 keyword research tools I checked, that keyword doesn't seem to have many daily search results, still enough to monetize on it though.

    problogger managed to rank in the top 10 of Affiliate marketing with a post ranting about affiliate marketing on twitter.... just imagine if the guy made a serious post about it, all the cash he could rake in, and he's probably getting a nice amount of visitors just from the twitter AM rant >.<

    google loves blogger, and google love video. get a few more good backlinks coming in and I can see why he ranks so well.

    as far as optimizing for this site, he should be using CPA offers IMHO. Those kind of lead capture offers work great with these kinds of sites. And he should have used his own blog on hid own domain. Then you could have flipped the site if he wanted or just keep it for all the traffic and backlinks.
