Urgent Business card dilemma for networking event...any brilliant credible solutions??

Hi

I am attending a networking event tomorrow for my SEO business and discovered to my horror that my business cards have been damaged and are unusable (don't ask....but I'm furious with the person concerned grrrrrrrr ).

It is too late to get replacements in time so please can some Warriors come up with a credible ideas that I can do instead that will get me out of a hole. It has to be something credible that disguises the fact that I don't have any business cards.

I was thinking perhaps that I could print off a SEO checklist or essential tips sheet as a free hand out with full contact details on.

Would that look too amateurish or would it look obvious?

Any suggestions or ideas will be VERY much appreciated.

Thank you

Gary

Setup and autoresponder and take the persons email from them at the event - enter it into the autoresponder through your handset while you are chatting to them

the autoresponder can send a taylored messages and email a digital version of your business card with your company details and your have their information on the autoresponder service

If you need artwork for the business card try using a site called "Vista Print"

Create an account (free) and then use their templates to design a card. Copy the artwork into a gif or jpeg and sent that via the autoresponder or add it to a webpage on yout website with a link it in the autoresponder to the contact

I did this a few weeks ago at a show when i ran out of cards. Worked like a dream

That is a brilliant idea and I can see how that could work really well.

How did you get round the awkwardness of not being able to return a card when they gave you theirs?

Did you explain what you were doing?

Sometimes these networking events are very fast moving and I'm worried that I might not be able to get the addresses from them in time.

It is certainly something that I am going to consider and see how to put into action.

Thanks again. I really appreciate it

Sure .. Take their business cards from them and advise them they will be receiving a digital business card from you the following day

My experience with networking is lots of cards and not idea who half of them are

Add a picture of yourself to the page with a card on it with your "linked in" and other social networking details as you wish

          Yep.

That is a VERY good solution and would definitely work.

You are right....I come back from these events laden with cards and it is hard to remember who gave what.

The digital card is a very good alternative.

Thanks Dave for taking the time to reply
