What Do You Do With A New Site?

Hey guys,

Not asking for secrets methods you do, just basic stuff that is out there along with tips, whatever that you are willing to say about what you do with a new site.

Here is what I did with my new site (so far)
- Made a few blog posts
- Ping them
- Submit to Digg, Folked, Buzz
- Added to signature at related forum and made a couple of posts

Now the site is two days old, has 3 blog posts and I just created (2 hours ago) a hubpage.

The site itself is ranking on page one already for its key term (which is in it's domain).

Now, what do you guys normally do after all that; apart from create more articles?
How do you generate more backlinks? I have Scrapebox, should I run that; or it's too early?

Thanks!

You're actually on the right track. Just do it more consistently, since your site is new. If you have a brand new blog, you might also want to participate in other blogs as well in your niche. there are a lot of great blogs out there that can help you and they also provide some blogging tips. Try to add blog commenting in one of your methods. It can give you targeted traffic if you make helpful comment to a high-ranked blogs.

You can also do some guest blogging. Visit other blogs, contact the blog owner and ask if you can make a guest post for them. Make sure to provide valuable content. I regularly make blog comments to 40 blogs a day and it's giving me steady flow of traffic and subscribers. i also do guest blogging at least 1-2 times per week. By just doing this consistently, you will see a steady flow of traffic in a few weeks, do it more consistently, then people from other blogs will recognize your site and will often visit your site to find out more about you.

    Hope this helps.

The only problem with guest blogging in my niche is I am basically the only active blogger, seeing as it is a buying niche keyword - Generally the person searching for my site may be interested in information, but may also be interested in buying. The only 'user' sites competing against me a blogspot page, hubpages and squidoo; no real day to day bloggers.

As for blog commenting the same goes for above, the competing sites are selling the product as well, so I may need to broaden my view and find related keywords that relate to me; I have started posting about broader articles on the site as well as I'll run out of ideas soon.

Doing both at once is possible, but are you sure you want to multi-task?

      Hi Ed,

For testing conversions I already have Amazon up; it's received a few clicks in the couple of days the site has been up which is good news.

I am planning on writing some more articles as I mentioned above on broader keywords, which means I can generate more traffic.

Not sure how this will work in my niche.

It's hard to explain what it is without giving it away completely.

Actually, I see how that might work; I'll try and get something up soon!
