Where Are People in IM?

I sometimes have got to wonder where people are in the internet marketing arena. Some of the WSOs I've purchased razzle and dazzle in the sales page but then don't deliver anything much.

For example, one WSO for which I paid a premium price delivered something rudimentary and limited with maybe one nugget of gold so I'm not too annoyed by its cost. Promising professional stuff but delivering something homemade looking, if that makes sense. Frankly, while I make no claims to being a genius, I find it kind of insulting to my intelligence. I'm not saying that I was ripped off, since bits and pieces might prove useful. The package was inconsistent in quality and not up to par with its sales page descriptions and hype.

Maybe gold-plated basics was just what other buyers wanted, I don't know. If so, if I created something better, it would be probably just be wasted (not planning to, just trying to illustrate a point). Like delivering gourmet food to someone who wanted Hamburger Helper.

It's been said that the purpose of a sales page is to get the money, and the purpose of the product is to prevent a refund.

I like to avoid people who say that.

I like to avoid people that start off by saying, "it's been said".

... unless they disagree with the phrase "its been said".

See what the crowds are saying before you buy, that's my 1# rule.

That's a good rule. Customer reviews are the best place to start. If dozens or more are raving about something, then I'd say it's a green light. If half the crowd is raving, yellow light. If the crowd is laughing there butts off about how sad the product is, hit the back button on your browser.

If you pay close attention most people right a positive review about an WSO the moment they read it, rather than waiting until they make actual dollars from it. That's why I only buy ones that are at least a month old.

I've purchased some expensive products that had incredibly
good reviewsonly to discover that the information revealed
    was basic stuff.

You never really know what's inside. Luckily almost all
IM products come with a refund guarantee, so there's
    no risk at all.

Maybe the very essence of any marketing product is the entertainment itself that we get from the razzle and dazzle? Seems to come with any kind of product or offer out there. Then any sensible truth or doable strategy we get out of the product then just becomes the bonus.

    Hmm, just like movies.

No wonder there's a "superstar" aura about internet gurus. IM is really just showbiz after all...

I bought a WSO and it was pretty expensive for what it was. I did learn some good stuff though which just about got me through the buyer's remorse.

I'm writing my own and it will have something totally innovative that has not been rehashed before.
