Keyword research

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this or not but I'm sure some kind moderator will let me know if it is not.
I watched an impressive video last night selling a complete software package that would automate creation of WP blogs. One of the modules was a key word generator. It returned about 1100 long tail keywords from one "root" word.
I would have bought the package, but it was a complete bundle and totally out of my budget for now, and of course it is "sold out".
My question is does anyone know how this type of a keyword generator works? It seems to produce a LOT more results than the free Google keyword tool. Is there a similar product on the market?
