Lately I've noticed that although I am submitting my articles to some of the top sites, I only seem to be getting traffic from ezinearticles.

Other sites I'm using are Ideamarketers, articlebase, article dashboard, article snatch.
Are these any good?
Should I rather focus on submitting more articles to ezinearticles?

Submitting just to ezinearticles.com can get you some traffic, but I would suggest that you learn to leverage your content in other ways. Don't get me wrong, I have written and submitted over 800 articles to ezinearticles.com, but now I find that my articles can do well on other types of websites.

For instance, documenting sharing websites such as docstoc or scribd can be great traffic sources, when used correctly. In addition, you may want to consider re-using the content of your articles, formatting the content into a Powerpoint presentation, and uploading it to slideshare.net.

I have gotten some addition traffic from using these websites.

I haven't submitted to article directories for over a year, and I'm busier than I've ever been. Instead of submitting to article directories like everyone else is doing, go the opposite way. Try submitting to highly respected, high traffic websites like SiteProNews, WebProNews, SearchEngineJournal, PromotionWorld, Buzzle, etc. That's the method I use, and it's working exceptionally well for me.

my articles at scribd.com and docstoc do get read a lot. You can put 2-3 anchor links in them too.

A new doc site is issuu.com looks very sharp and you can add a dofollow url with each document on the page it shows on. It is not as big as the others yet but should become so.

I used .doc files originally but after finding how easy it is to just use print and make a pdf with the free cutepdf software I always use pdf. Google can read the anchor text links in pdf too.

I submit to a wide variety of directories - from the regulars like Go Articles, to the more "sophisticated" like American Chronicle. I just started submitting to Rysite - I find it interesting that they tweet every article out to followers. I'm curious to see what kind of traffic I get from it!

Don't just focus on EZA... you should always be looking for new places to submit articles.

    Hi,

Just starting out with articles, so I have picked up some great points here.

I had only heard of the main article directories before but will definitely be trying some of the other sites mentioned too.

    Kind regards

    Simon

Aren't sites like docstoc and scribd much harder to submit to these days? I thought docstoc didn't allow links in their articles anymore or am I wrong?
