Microsoft SPAM precautions

So I was sending my wife a couple of things via email. I get an error message telling me that my server settings might be set wrong, on the second email. The first went out fine. So I called my internet company to find out what the problem might be. Low and behold, we find that one of the port settings was the wrong numbner. So I got to ask, how did that get changed from one email to the next? I change it back and try to send an email and get the error message again.

So what was the reason for this? The tech tells me that Windows Mail will lock me out if it thinks I have sent out too many email in a day, because I might be a SPAMMER. The only way to fix this is to call Microsoft and get them to unlock me. So how many email did I send out today? TWO. Yes, that is right 2.

Something about this just burns me up. What the hell is Microsoft doing reaching into my computer to turn off my software?

O by the way, Microsoft is not there right now, they are closed. The tech told me that I will have to call them in the morning. I hope that he didn't forget that tomorrow is Saturday. I wonder if they work Saturday. Something tells me that they don't. I wonder if I had an Apple if I would have these type of stupid problems?

Just use your own email server. OR switch to yahoo or gmail...

It is not the server, it is the email client. I don't like webmail accounts. I have always used an email client such as MS Outlook or something.

The tech told me that the only ones that do it are Windows Mail and Mozilla Thunderbird to it. I have been using Windows Mail for about two years since my MS Outlook corrupted the data file when the power went out and my comuter shut down without the shut down process. So I am relegated to this email client now. Hopefully it will never happen to you.

I find it very hard to believe that there is anything in Mozilla Thunderbird that would allow Microsoft and only Microsoft to block and unblock email.

My gut feeling is that this has nothing to do with Microsoft or your email client and everything to do with either a glitch at your isp or just a general glitch in the ozone layer type thing.

For safety, I'd run malwarebytes just to be sure nothing nasty on your computer is causing the problem.
