Pre-selling Info Products, Basic Ebay (or other) Strategy...

I'm reading through Shawn Casey's "Desparate For Cash" ebook,
and he's got a great story in there about putting together an info-product and actually selling it before it's done...

essentially, he:

- contacts a few of his friends proposing he conduct a phone interview, turn it into an ebook, he sells it, but his friends get it branded under their name to build credibility
- he puts up job on Elance hiring copywriter to put together killer sales page for pre-publication sale; ends up offering exclusive with resale rights, plus only 50 copies, and those 50 buyers are the only 50 who can sell...

I like the concept of pre-selling, and sense that the resale rights would allow the product to fly alot faster. I'm curious to learn more specifics about how exactly this would be done...

Can anyone recommend any great info (threads here in the forums, or outside products) on how to work this type of deal, selling pre-publication?

Would Ebay be the most simple way to do it?
Would the Warrior Forums be a good place to make such an offer?
What else would be good avenues for making this type of sale?

I've done barely any internet marketing, though have studied a bunch and have a general overview of many factors. Looking for some basic, straightforward, simple-as-it-gets formulas or blueprints on how to accomplish this type of strategy.

All guidance much appreciated.

Best wishes & be well, thanks...

The most important thing is that you want to sell something you understand. It's no good to sell a product on making money online when you haven't done it yet.....

Working in smaller niches will help you get a grounding in basic IM. If you go straight for the 'Make money online' or IM niche, your going to end up flat on your face with empty pockets.

Try using the principles you have already learned in smaller niches first...

That is something Dan Kennedy advocates. He says he always builds a sales page first and the product second. If he doesn't get many orders he refunds everyone and forgets the idea.
