i agree.... entertainment sells, boring does not. If you notice, each one of the successful launches had some kind of entertainment value attatched to it... something unusual...

Yeah, I tell people all the time - they get stuck on what they need to do to connect with their audience. They get stuck on what they need to send them in between offers to get them engaged and keep them that way.

It's easy.

Most people are bored. And they are boring themselves. Everyone they know is boring. You need to simply be the cure for that. It's not hard. The internet is full of interesting stuff that you can show them.

Cure boredom, and you can write your own ticket.

Most people who enter this game come in with dreams of $100 bills falling from the skies at the push of a button. Then there is the fact that we lead busier lives and people don't have patience anymore, they want everything handed to them on a silver platter without doing any work, and they want it IMMEDIATELY.

This is after months of development and research.

Know what the problem is?

They're boring. Well at least their marketing is.

Notice the internet marketing experts...they're all entertaining. You won't find a boring fart doing well --- unless they outsource their marketing.

Look at shows such as America's Got Talent. That's entertaining like hell.

Look at Paris Hilton --- entertaining like hell.

Gary Vaynerchuk --- need I say more?

So if you want to succeed in doing well in an industry...think of how you can be entertaining. Someone that is likeable and stand out.

If you're a boring sod...create a persona for yourself like the Rich Jerk. You can be yourself...just don't let it show in your marketing :-)

While I agree with the premise of your post for the most part, at the end of the day, entertaining or not, you still have to be able to deliver the goods, if you're going to have any type of longevity. Yes, people like Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, Octomom, Nadya Suleman, Kate Gosselin and others are indeed "entertaining." But that says more about society in general than it does about their particular talents - which I think most reasonable people would agree are lacking.

Hey David, you're right.

There are too many critical factors for a successful online business. It's about your product, sales letter conversion, customer support, quality of articles, your resource box, follow up emails, call to action in your video etc..etc..etc...

This is what newbies don't understand. This is also what's not selling on the market.

By the way...there's no ebook on how to be entertaining for your online business

Good advice here.

It's all about E-N-E-R-G-Y. People feel your energy before they can sense it, if you know what I mean. Someone who rattles you is not boring. Gary does that.

Yes you must have something valuable to offer but people with passion speak in a language that makes their offering more attractive.

Its funny i showed somebody an internet marketing clip online, and they found the speaker boring, but the info they were giving to me was Gold!

I liked the info, and put the 'boring' side of the presenter to one side.
